Woman Injured as Her Truck Rolls Over Her in Lopburi

A incident occurred in Lopburi when a woman was injured after her truck rolled over her at a steep delivery area of a prominent shopping mall. The woman, identified as Mrs. Naruemon (surname withheld), 44, became trapped under her vehicle and suffered serious injuries due to the heat from the exhaust pipe.

 

The incident took place around 08:45, on August 22 at a delivery area of a well-known shopping mall located on Phahonyothin Road in Lopburi. Mrs. Naruemon was reportedly taking photos when the vehicle unexpectedly began rolling downhill. The truck crushed her underneath, dragging her body until it collided with the mall’s wall.

 

Rescue personnel from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, alongside police officers from Lopburi City Police Station, quickly responded to the scene. After 30 minutes using hydraulic tools and jacks, they managed to free the injured woman, who was in excruciating pain due to burns from the exhaust and other injuries. She was immediately rushed to Phra Narai Maharaj Hospital for emergency treatment.

 

Eyewitnesses revealed that Mrs. Naruemon regularly came to the mall to pick up and deliver goods. On this occasion, she had forgotten to fully engage the handbrake or use wheel blocks. While she was standing in front of the vehicle to take photos as part of routine documentation, the truck started moving downhill, causing the accident.

 

Before being transported to the hospital, Mrs. Naruemon expressed to those around her that she feared she might not survive the ordeal due to the intense heat and inability to breathe while trapped under the vehicle. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the rescuers for saving her life.

 

Authorities are investigating the incident further, focusing on the possibility of negligence regarding the handbrake and proper safety precautions when parking on inclined surfaces.

I never trust the handbrake on a slope. Engine off , brake on and put in first gear so no rolling possible. 

 

If her engine was running to keep the cab cool then that exhaust pipe will have given her a nasty burn and scar for life.

So she was standing in the FRONT of the vehicle, but managed to get trapped in the BACK between the wall and near the exhaust?  The mind boggles....
