Fire Fire at The Avenue, Pattaya Quickly Contained
Pictures courtesy of ข่าวพัทยา A fire scare at Pattaya Avenue Shopping Mall on Second Road prompted a swift response from emergency services on the morning of 22 June. Fortunately, the situation was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported. At approximately 08:30, smoke was detected within the premises of MeSpace Self Storage, a self-storage service provider that offers round-the-clock access and comprises over 200 storage units within the mall. Pattaya municipal fire crews and local enforcement officers were immediately deployed to the scene to assess and manage the situation. The fire was quickly extinguished, but PPV (positive pressure ventilation) fans and tubing had to be used to clear smoke from several areas and levels. According to an official statement released by Pattaya Avenue management, the mall’s internal safety team promptly took control of the situation. The smoke was effectively contained, and ventilation measures were implemented to clear the affected areas. Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently ongoing. While certain zones within the mall had to be temporarily closed for safety checks and ventilation, the majority of the shopping centre remained able to open to the public and continue to operate as normal. A statement from The Avenue said; “We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank our customers for their understanding,” the management said. Authorities are working to identify the exact cause of the incident. Adapted by Asean Now from ข่าวพัทยา 2025-06-23 -

I still see them used a lot in my area (Sukhumvit) but I hate them for their noise. Will never use one. -
