Any affordable (buying) Gated Communities which strictly don't allow dogs (on the street)?

If ya got a Thai wife or Gf travel around the area you think you might want to invest in!

Stop and ask  random people for help in finding the person or persons

who make up & enforce the rules,

( not police) for the community!

Start by having your Thai lady express your concerns to those in charge!

Thats what I would do if I had to do it all over again!

Good luck

A bit vague there - how much is affordable (to you), where are you ?

I thought most Moobans have a general rule that Dogs cannot be walked off-leash and not allowed to 'roam freely'...  AND.. if they do, complaints can be made to the juristic committee. Of course, then it matters how effective the juristic committee are at resolving such issues.

I don't mind dogs - so long as owners are responsible, they pickup their dog litter etc...  But, I would want to be in a Moobaan that does not allow dogs that would be considered dangerous (and feel it perfectly acceptable to use lists from other countries such as the UK's dangerous dogs list - so they can legislate what to ban).

For what its worth - I've not seen a dog off leash in my moobaan... and if I did, I'd get involved with dealing with the issue.

Mind telling me which moban this is? PM is ok. Thanks

Yes, my question is pretty much above. I would like to live in a place where dog owners are not allowed to let their dogs run around freely. I would like to live in a place where I don't need to be afraid of some street dogs attacking me when I come home. I'm sure some people will understand that.

This community (Baan Wang Tan) has very few loose dogs.  The few that I've seen loose mostly have wandered in from outside as the residents generally have good sized yards and dog-proof perimeter fences.

A recent post on the community chat group:

Houses for rent in Wangtan
1. 3 beds 2 baths
2. 3 beds 3 baths
3. 5 beds 7 baths pool villa lake view

Its in Bangkok...

Somehow I missed that this was in the Chiang Mai forum - so I assume you want advice on gated communities there.

There are plenty in the CM area and I'm sure many forum members from Moobaans in Chiang Mai...

... I imagine most of the newer mid to higher range ones will have regulations about roaming dogs.... of course, the regulation is only as good as the enforcement.

I'd be looking for a moo bahn that doesn't allow dogs period. If the people either side of you have a couple of yappers, even if they are fully enclosed they'll drive you nuts. I remember one guy showing me a townhouse for rent in Pattaya one time. Next door enclosed in the front area was a damn yapper, every person that walked past, every motorcycle, every car, every kid on a bike, and this damn thing was at the gate yap-yap-yap-yap. Obviously I didn't take the property, and I said to the guy... Do you really think I want to live next door to that bloody thing?
