Anyone taking Mounjaro?

Any BM's taking this medication?

Last night I was talking to my daughter back in the UK. She is a Urology Dr. in a hospital there. She was telling me that a consultant she works with has been taking Mounjaro weigh loss drug for six months. Apparently it has almost miraculous benefits. He was BMI over 30, onset diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Six months later and all resolved - life-changing in fact....... She reckons huge numbers of people will soon be taking it.  Apparently the drug itself is cheap (like GBP5.00 for a month's supply) but the injector pens are costly to make, pushing the price (in UK) to well over GBP100.00 for a month.

I don't need this medication at the moment because my BMI is just about in normal range and I am not diabetic or HBP, but nice to know its available.

Mountjaro is not available in Thailand.  Rybelsus and Ozempic are, but intermittently.

I'm in the US and have been taking compounded Mounjaro rebranded as Zepbound for 6 weeks.  It makes me feel less hungry and I have lost 7 pounds so far.

Has anyone researched the least expensive providers of Rybelsus, Ozempic or other alternative semaglutides in Thailand?  I also wonder if any are available significicantly less expensive in surrounding countries or India than they are here?

No idea re other vountries.

In Thailand least expensive I know of is Medconsult in Bangkok (they will ship). But still close  to 10k a month unless you are on fairly low dose and get a higher strength then  use "click method". For example if using 0.5mg, get the 1 mg dose pen which will then last you 2 months.  Obviously need to take care to calculate clicks correctly.

If you want to visit Laos do check this link

https://alliancepharmagroup.com/product/losem-14/

It seems what we have is some sort of copy of rybelsus.
No idea of pricing or availability.
If somebody knows, please do let us know.

Medconsult have now advised they will have Mounjaro available quite shortly though as yet no indication of pricing.I suspect 13/14,000 per month but don't really know.I'm interested because a close relative might be a candidate.I need to do more research but to date I think Medconsult is dealing with weight loss jabs professionally. What I don't want is a prescription service only because all the evidence available suggests medical supervision is needed.I'm pretty sure a proper service will be available at the well known Bangkok hospitals but maybe more expensive?

I'm somewhat surprised there isn't more discussion of the subject on this forum.

Three months later and still no discussion of Mounjaro and similar products which are revolutionizing obesity/diabetes treatment throughout Europe and the US.I can actually understand limited take up in Thailand but still I would have expected more discussion/interest on this forum.

My relative has now returned to the UK and is getting good weight loss treatment there though she says a huge price increase is imminent - though I think it will still cost less than Thailand ( approx Baht 210,000 pa exclusive of medical support) .People getting Mounjaro on the NHS will not be affected.

Mounjaro is available from Southeast Pharmacy but apparently need to check with their distributor for availability.

Still a bit expensive if paying out of pocket here, roughly 11-13000b for the intro 2.5mg dose of Mounjaro (monthly).  I am giving it serious consideration though, as it seems to have fantastic benefits with limited downside.

Shame we ( apparently) cannot import Mounjaro from India - basically half the price compared to Thai prices.

The patent on Ozempic in India expires in March of 2026 and several companies, with government support, will launch generics that same month.

Should be so cheap a trip to India will be worth it.

Mounjaro is surprisingly well priced at Bangkok Hospital, actually cheaper than local pharmacies...   I happened to mention this to my doctor and asked if Bangkok Hospital had suddenly grown a conscience and become ethical, he said it was cheaper because Pharmacies have to buy it from clinics and mark it up.
