Hi everyone

i have had Vonage Voip for 3 years now and when i got it the only isp that had the ports open for it was Ji-Net. Well i have grown tired of paying 2,100 baht for 512/256 connection. Im in chiang mai so my choice of isp is limited. A friend told me that Hi net from CAT is pretty fast and it might work for only 1000 baht (2mps). Does any one else use Vonage or other voip internationally that work on a isp other than ji-net.

TOT 1000 baht package in Pattaya. I am very surprised to hear that it doesn't work with all providers.

You mean the Vonage where you actually buy the Vonage box, right?

I have been using Vonage in Chiang Mai with True Cable (952 baht for 1024/512) for over a year with only minor outages. These outages were not due to Vonage per se, but attributed to the international bandwidth situation. Prior to moving to CM, I used Voange for 1.5 years in Pattaya with JI-Net. No big issues there either.

Works well in Kanchanaburi with TOT ADSL. Minor problems but I think they're TOT problems, not Vonage.

Our house is finished and we're switching to IP Star. I wonder how that's going to work out. Anybody with any experience ?

Vonage with a 1 mb IPstar ?

When i first got vonage with the box i got hi net with cat isp. At the time hi net blocked the ports according to the tt&t guy who tried to figure out why it did not work. So im going to try hi net again because its cheaper and alittle faster.

Internet Connection

Does Vonage service work with my DSL Satellite Internet connection?

Yes, Vonage works with satellite Internet connections. Vonage service requires 90 kbps of consistent upload/download speed to make and receive calls. You can use our speed test to determine your upload/download speed.

Well, I am in Chiang Mai, I have 3 voip lines.. two with Lingo and one with packet 8 on TT&T Maxnet, all three work fine. All three have sip devices. Once in a while one will have a problem in which case I more often than not can use the other service. No problems here and I couldn't live here with out them. I am one of the few that is truly happy with my internet service provider. *** except I have a problem with them continuing to block YouTube.com! *** I am located in the Hang Dong area.
