Apparently, according to another source of news, during the seven-day holiday of "Golden Week", TAT forecasts a total of 132,000-183,000 Chinese arrivals, generating 3.7-5.1 billion baht, up from 2.3 billion baht recorded in last year's Golden Week."

And I thought that the Chinese were experiencing a decline in finances!

Chinese come in hoards, but they usually only spend in the places choses by their tour guides. Establishments that are generally chinese owned and of course all the money goes back to China throught the usual Chinese underground money laundering channels and networks.

In reality, over 60% of Chinese visitors to Thailand are independent travelers, not in tour groups.  They go where they want, see what they want, stay where they want, and, spend where they want.
