I am sorry, but I don't know where in the many threads they are buried, i don't even remember in which one. The latest post was very long and, I think, max 1 week ago. Even if you only peruse the tax threads, you couldn't have missed it. Just go through all the posts of the poster ballpoint and you will see them all. The first one was quite old (one year plus?), but, as I said, the latest one was very recent. -

I see this regularly, same thing at STOP signs, pull out in front of oncoming traffic? Not to mention, soon as one person leaves the STOP sign (that's if they stopped at all), everyone does, I wonder if they realize every car has to stop at the STOP sign. -

Huge markup on imported foods. Why?
The HS custom code for marmite is 2106.90.99. As you may see in this document (https://www.customs.go.th/data_files/ad5e0129680ac963317538ca8ea02209.PDF) the import duty for this specific product category is 60%. The duty is calculated on the CIF cost of the product (cost + insurance + freight). To the resulting landed cost a 7% VAT applies. Assuming that the price ex-factory paid by the importer is A$2.80, and assuming 15% as the cost for freight and shipment to the BKK port from the factory warehouse, the CIF cost is A$3.22. Adding Thai import duties (60%) and VAT (7%) the cost becomes A$5.51. Adding 5% for BKK port handling and domestic freight from the vessel to the importer's warehouse, plus 25% gross margin for the importer and 30% gross margin for the retailer, the selling price is A$11.90. This is not true only for the Australian Marmite (which I personally find disgusting). Sadly, it is true also for my favored European, delicious, imported food 😃. -

What's behind the current THB strength?
Duhhhh.... I currently have twice that amount invested in about 10 different tickers. I would say 5 of those are considered high paying dividend stocks.....I spread the risk around....I've been investing for years and wasn't born last night. Let me see....YMAX 1K shares at a cost of less than $20k USD will get you around $200 USD a WEEK in dividends.... (~6,500 THB). Can you do the math or do you need any help....and do note, that's just $20k on a single ticker! -
