Hua Hin
So what's good about Hua Hin? I have been to that place many years ago and did not really like it has it changed a lot? I only need to travel about 76 miles so distance and time is not a problem. Can you point out some good restaurants (including western food ) Money not a problem. Need a Hotel with lifts since I am slightly handicapped. All recommendation welcome -

I got my tax ID about 3 - 4 years after I got my pink card. Completely different numbers. My Pink ID has saved me many certificates of residence not needed, for driver license and other facilities. I wanted to open a 1.9% term deposit with CIMB, which required to be an individual with a Thai identification number. The pink ID card was sufficient, otherwise no account. I have accounts with other banks that required a pink card, otherwise no account. GSB and Bangkok bank are just 2 of them. I have registered post paid phone number, for which I needed the pink card, otherwise no postpaid. There are many other things I was only able to do because I have a pink card- 1

That's not correct. Formerly, you could get 20000 interest without WHT. Once you had 20000 in your passbook, you just opened a new account and got 20000 without WHT. Rinse and repeat. People who did that had no TIN, paid no taxes, did not claim back WHT. Then, about 8(?) years ago, this changed, you couldn't do it anymore. One time 20000, that's it. This had always been the law, but before, TRD didn't check whether the same person had multiple accounts. Now they do check. The account holder still had no TIN, didn't pay taxes and did not claim back WHT. -

Not 1000% sure, but I believe it is, and can be used for filing paper returns. AFAIK it's only when filing online that the pink ID number must be activated in the system. -
