Authorities are urgently investigating the tragic deaths of a family of four, after a woman allegedly shot and killed her husband, a former municipal councillor, along with their two teenage children, before taking her own life in a luxury home.

On October 7, at 15:00, Pol. Col. Banterng Laowcharoen, the superintendent of Muang Songkhla Police Station, received a report of four bodies found inside a two-story house in Soi Saiburi 49, Boyang Subdistrict, Songkhla Province. Police, forensic teams, and rescue services were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found the body of the 62-year-old homeowner near the front door, and the body of his 15-year-old son on the living room sofa. Upstairs, the body of the 40-year-old wife was found in the bedroom, holding a 9mm handgun, while the body of their 17-year-old daughter was discovered in another bedroom.

Initial investigations suggest that the wife shot her husband, who was a former local government councillor, as well as her son, a 10th-grade student at a prestigious local school, and her daughter, a 12th-grader preparing for university entrance exams, before turning the gun on herself. Police suspect the motive may stem from family-related issues, but further investigation is ongoing, with relatives being questioned for more details.

The investigation continues as authorities seek to understand the full circumstances behind this event.

Debt issues or a fall from grace?

Unable to comprehend parents who end their young children's lives without giving them a chance to enjoy the rest of their lives.  RIP.

In some Asian cultures (I come from one) parents feel no one else can care for their children.  In essence if they decide on suicide they will take the children with them. The most tragic case I was on scene for was when an Asian father in LA decided to kill himself and his two young daughters by igniting the family van on fire while all three were inside.  At the last minute he changed his mind and jumped out of the van while his daughters burned to death. It was later determined he was in debt for over a million and had no way to pay it off.  He also stated he did not want his daughters to feel the shame of his debts.  He is now serving life in prison.

Police Await Blood Test Results in Songkhla Family Mass Shooting Case

Songkhla police are awaiting blood test results to determine if sedatives were used in the shocking mass shooting of a family of four. The victims were members of the family of Chaiyan Khuan-Seng, a former Songkhla municipal councilor. His wife allegedly shot him, their 16-year-old son, and 18-year-old daughter before turning the gun on herself on October 7.

The motive is believed to be linked to financial troubles, as the wife had previously confided in her sister about their mounting debts. Investigators suspect that sedatives might have been used, as all three victims were shot while sleeping, with pillows placed over their heads. There were no signs of struggle, raising concerns about whether they had been incapacitated before the shooting.

As of October 8, the family’s home in Soi 49/2, Saiburi Road, Songkhla Municipality, remained quiet, with relatives gathering belongings for the funeral. The bodies of the four victims are currently at Songkhla Hospital, and will be moved to Laem Sai Temple for funeral rites.

Neighbours reported hearing only a single gunshot, which they believe was the final one when the wife took her own life. They were unaware of the earlier shots, likely muffled by the pillows. Neighbors also described Chaiyan as a friendly, outgoing person who was well-known in the community, while his wife was more reclusive.

The police are now waiting for toxicology results from Songkhla Hospital to confirm if sedatives played a role in the events.

A very drastic step to take if it was about debt.

OK, I understand why you may want to kill yourself, but to take out innocent family members?

RIP
