The incident occurred at Prasat Bus Station in Surin province on October 9, when a young bus attendant fell from a moving vehicle and was fatally crushed by the bus’s wheels.

At around 18:25 local reporters were alerted to the incident involving a double-decker air-conditioned bus on the Rayong-Mukdahan route. The accident claimed the life of Mr. Suphanai, a 19-year-old bus attendant. He was struck by the very bus he worked on as it was reversing out of its parking bay.

Upon arrival at the scene, authorities found the lifeless body of Mr. Suphanai under the bus, which was being driven by Mr. Pattaya Paiwan. Eyewitnesses stated that the bus was reversing from its parking spot, with the door open. The victim was reportedly behind the vehicle, possibly checking to ensure other buses had cleared their spaces. As he attempted to board the bus, he lost his footing and fell under the wheels, which then ran over and crushed his head.

Investigating officer Pol. Lt. Col. Jaturong Lomnak from Prasat Police Station inspected the scene and recorded the details of the accident. The driver was taken in for further questioning as part of the ongoing investigation, with legal proceedings to follow.

The authorities are continuing to gather information to determine the precise cause of the accident and ensure justice is served.

I don't know if it's ok in Thailand to drive with open doors. An avoidable fatal accident of course.
