What city in Thailand has the best weather?
Ao Manao is a fabulous bathing beach. Only a few minutes from PKK Centre. It's extremely clean - and has beachside seating/food service (f you need that), but also has the quieter Southern end - where the experience can best be described as 'idyllic'. The (several) toilet blocks along the bay also sport showers (5 Baht) so that you can rinse the salt off if you like before heading home. While the beach can be shallow at lower tides - I always time visits for tides 1.4m and above. The 'Tide Charts Near Me' App provides an excellent tide calendar (with the App loadable on to Apple Watch also, if you have one) - meaning that you have a clear indication of the state of the tide (and whether it is in waxing or waning mode) simply by glancing at your watch face: 'Tide Charts Near Me'. While you can very conveniently buy virtually anything you might care for (Western food-wise) online - you also have the option of popping over to Hua Hin every 2-3 months or so to 'stock up' on things that you just can't live without. -

Harris Lies, Americans Die. Illegal Aliens are more Important
There is no place in a democracy for lies. I have no idea what motivates you to post disinformation. Maybe you will wake up one day and develop some character. -

Harris Blows an Easy Interview, Trump Pounces: She is Just Joe Biden Redux
Point is - as others have said - your taking what could be seen at worst as a mild gaffe - and at best a loyal Vice President in a hugely successful economy - and trying to pump it up - when Trump lies - makes gaffes - and generally craps on - daily. Watch Kimmel or Stewart and have a laugh and take a break from your pro Trump mindset. -

Trump Lost Michigan Today
Trump insults Detroit while campaigning in the city Is Trump trying to lose? Former President Donald Trump criticized Detroit while delivering remarks to an economic group there on Thursday, saying the whole country would end up like the city if his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, is elected. “The whole country will be like — you want to know the truth? It’ll be like Detroit,” the Republican presidential nominee said. “Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she’s your president.” This isn't just stupid, Trump took stupid to a previously unexplored new level.- 1

Why Are You Even Here? The Surprising Attitudes of Some Expats in Thailand
Sorry, with as long time in the country as.... well, the founder, I also from that part of the world where we let immigrants, refugees etc. live their own lives as long as they obey the law, it gets a bit too much of a better than u made " show making discussion " to be reading on a forum how I shall live in Thailand apart from following law and regulations. Met both locals and foreigners here some good and some less good general behavior, but nothing I have seen and observed here or from individuals will make me adapt into a feudal society. I follow what I learned as a child as right/wrong no matter what part of society it is about. Btw, I get by in Thai, not fluently, but I manage. I have been to many, but not all, places in Thailand over time, have participated in everything from Thai / International sport events, religious sermons, delved into the culture and observed cultural differences and I respect the citizens' view of "their values" follow the law and that's it. Btw, have we forgot "Thai Visa a in the 90`s😉 Felt -

Thai Policewoman Faces Embezzlement Charge Over Unreturned Funds
In the Isaan province of Surin, Thailand, a policewoman is in hot water after allegedly refusing to return funds mistakenly transferred to her account by a 30-year-old man named Warut. Warut, seeking justice after a frustrating three-year ordeal, appeared on Channel 7 to share his story, eager for resolution. The saga began on April 26, 2021, when Warut, intending to transfer money to his own bank account, entered an incorrect digit, inadvertently sending the funds to a stranger. His efforts to retrieve the money through official channels fell flat. Local police advised him to liaise with the bank, which, after a fortnight, reported their inability to contact the recipient. Determined, Warut tracked down the policewoman on social media, only to face silence. Two years on, she broke her silence, attributing her lack of response to a hacked account. Despite promising restitution after reviewing her statements, she requested a "processing fee" from Warut—an audacious demand considering the situation. Despite admitting to spending the money, the officer only refunded Warut a meagre 500 baht before vanishing again. With assistance from the media, prominent Thai lawyer Ronnarong Kaewphet intervened, clarifying that the policewoman’s conduct amounted to embezzlement, a serious offence with potential penalties of up to three years' imprisonment or a fine of 60,000 baht. Ronnarong urged Warut to pursue legal action promptly, with the case nearing its expiration. He called for accountability from the policewoman's supervisor, pressing for her removal, citing her professional duty to uphold—rather than flout—the law. This case has caught national attention, highlighting significant issues of trust and integrity within law enforcement. File photo for reference only -- 2024-10-11 -
