campbell Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Can anyone confirm if VFS will accept a rental agreement (lease) on my residence along with my most recent receipt of notification (90days) and TM 30 as proof of address when renewing my British passport. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Use your driving licence. Or use your phone bill statement. You can download a statement from your phone company app. 1
campbell Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 I don't have a driving licence and the phone bill is in my landlady's name. And my mobile phone is prepaid! Would a statement from my Thai bank with my full address be acceptable?
Gsxrnz Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 This is from the UK Government website for renewing a passport while overseas. Applying for a passport from outside the UK: supporting documents (group 2) (accessible) - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Name and address and/or residency evidence Please provide one of the following: visa or resident permit (or colour photocopy) tax record (for example, a letter from a tax authority) educational record (for example, a school report) employment record (for example, an official letter from your employer) letter sent to you from a central, regional or local government department medical/health card voter’s card immigration documents.
campbell Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 okay thanks, guess I will need to apply for a residence certificate from immigration - last time they gave me a letter but apparently they can longer do that. My fault, thought the TM30 was sufficient proof of residence. The problem is that when I retired, had my media visa cancelled and then applied for an extension of stay for retirement, immigration merely gave me a year's stamp.
BenCrew Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 My internet bill did the job for me, about a year ago.

campbell Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 Would monthly bills from True Visions and True Online (for internet) do?? Sorry to be a nuisance, if not will go to immigration office
campbell Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 thanks to you all. fortunately I have given myself plenty of time before I need to renew my passport so will probably go with the residence certificate complete with translation option just to be safe.
ignis Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 Any chance you get a State Pension ? Have you a letter from them address to you in Thailand ?
