I arrived in Thailand on January 24, 2007.

On February 19, 2007, I got an 'extension of stay' for 1,900 baht that allowed me to stay in Thailand until January 23, 2008.

I departed Thailand on May 24, 2007 and will be going back to Thailand again on August 8, 2007.

I want to stay in Thailand until January of 2008.

Is the extension of stay I got on February 19, 2007 still valid?

Do I have to go to the immigration office in Bangkok or can I fill out paperwork and pay fees at the airport on August 8?

If you obtained a re-entry permit from Immigration before you left Thailand on May 24 this year, then you will again get a stamp with permission to stay until January 23, 2008 when you return to Thailand on August 8, 2007. Otherwise, your extension will be lost and when entering on August 8 you will receive permission to stay based on whatever visa you have for that entry, or without visa get 30 days permission to stay, and you will have to start the extension process all over again.

Generally speaking once you exit the country any extension on a visa is automatically cancelled. say for example I have a 60 day tourist visa on the 59th day I go to immigration and get a 30 day extension which gives me a total of 59 + 30 = 89 days I then leave the country on the 65th day. I cannot come back on the 70th day and say I had a extension. to the visa.

But it is not clear from your “Post” what visa you entered on

roskruge.
