Excellent driving skills on display!

I travel the Cha Am--BKK nightmare regularly....drivers like this lunatic, are everywhere...and it's almost always pick-up delivery vehicles....exactly the same as this example.

Just normal Thai driving, and with a child on board. Go anywhere on any highway this is how they drive. RIP young girl.

Not helpful.....just shows how you haven't acclimatised ti driving in Thailand..

The number of deaths in 4 wheeled vehicles per 200k is about the same or slightly less than in the US..

so are you saying US drivers are dangerous drivers as well, that clip shows that Thai drivers have no concerns about road safety.

what about children's car safety seat law, i wonder if there has ever been a prosecution or enforcement

See that  kind of driving all day every day on route 6.....and you (I) get drawn into do the same as there is no lane discipline.

Lorries in the fast lane doing 40mph, cars in the middle lane 30mph and never ever changing lanes.....just sit there.

How do you know he has not acclimatised to Thai driving ?

I have been driving here 20 years, consider myself acclimatised and would call the driving in the clip objectively idiotic and reckless...the fact it is the sort of driving we will fairly regularly observe is by the by. It is still idiotic and reckless.

It's about time they changed the Thai driving code to ban undertaking, which (IIRC) is allowed on dual carriageways and above here. You can see the occasional outcome of this in the clip, a fast moving undertaking vehicle mixing with slow traffic in the inside lane.
