Local authorities are investigating the death of a 32-year-old man after his body was discovered next to an abandoned motorcycle in a remote area in Chalerm Phra Kiat District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. The body was found near a gravel road along an irrigation canal in Moo 3, Don Tro subdistrict.

Pol. Lt. Col. Peerapong Yodsuran, Deputy Chief Investigator of Chalerm Phra Kiat Police Station, responded to the scene, accompanied by a team of detectives, a forensic doctor, and rescue personnel from the Pracha Ruam Jai Foundation.

Upon arrival, officers found a motorcycle without license plates. A backpack was neatly hung on the front of the bike. Nearby, the body of the deceased, later identified as Mr. Santichai, a local resident of Chalerm Phra Kiat, lay lifeless. He had been dead for at least 12 hours, with a single gunshot wound to his right temple, likely inflicted at close range by an unknown caliber firearm.

Investigators found no signs of a struggle or suspicious evidence at the scene. According to local residents, the motorcycle had been noticed hours earlier by a passersby. The area is an isolated stretch of road, with no houses within 500 metres. By the afternoon, the motorcycle remained in the same spot, prompting someone to investigate, which led to the grim discovery of the body and the subsequent call to the authorities.

Preliminary police assumptions suggest the incident may have occurred during the night. The victim is believed to have parked his motorcycle at the location to meet someone. It is suspected that an argument ensued, culminating in the other party shooting the victim and fleeing the scene without leaving any witnesses.

Authorities are now urgently gathering information from the victim’s family to trace the perpetrator, with investigations ongoing.
