Molar implant in BKK?

Had a back-most lower molar removed at a well-known international hospital in Bangkok.  It went well and suprisingly didn't cost much.  What they've quoted me as the cost of an implant, though, is outrageous -- 93,000 to 120,000 baht.  Almost the same as in the U.S.

Any recommendations for a good place in BKK to get a molar implant at a reasonable price?  Preferably not at one of those factory-like clinics that specialize in up-selling to medical tourists.

Thanks.

Around 60-65K at Mahidol University Dental Hospital (Close to Victory Monument). This is using Swiss implant material. The professors did my work, and mostly in the evenings or the weekends. You may get it cheaper elsewhere and with cheaper materials. I should add I didn't need any bone graft or 3d ct scans.

Get out of Bangkok and have it done for half that price by specialists.

Where? Maybe half of 120k, bur where?

As I understand it, a significant portion of the cost is for the appliance itself.

I kike BKK Hospital dental center, I think it was north of 70k with the crown, about two years ago.

I just did it in Belgium. It costed me 1750 € / implant all included, should be something like 70.000 baht. The implants are developed and distributed by Nobelcare, originally Swedish. According to my dentist it is top quality. You get a kind of dental passport with world wide guarantee. Apparently the costprice here in Thailand is way over 93.000 to 120.000 baht quoting to the OP. The process is quite long. First the stomatologue  implants the base in the jaw bone. After 3 months your dentist can build the tooth on the base implant. It takes several visits, dental impression is needed aso. So if you are not an expat or a long time resident you will need to do minimum two trips. Conclusion, it is much cheaper in my home country with no trip hassle, language barrier and follow up issues.

I had mine done in Chonburi by a specialist. Total price was around 40k, when Bangkok Dental Centre was 65k+ extras. I went for a consultation there firstly and decided against.

Add 5 to 10k to those prices to bring them up to date and a bit more for a ceramic/porcelain crown.

Get out of Bangkok if you don't want to pay the Bangkok premium.

I did mine as part of my holiday visits. So there was no extra cost nor hassle. I don't know what you think your worldwide guarantee will get you. No one other than your original practitioner is going to do any replacement work for free. So the best you might get is a replacement part. But what are the chances of a titanium implant disintegrating?

I paid 40-42k. I didn't get a passport, but my practitioner guarantees her work personally.

So, from your link, about the same price as I paid at BKK Hospital Dental center for the same implant.

No. I just checked with the Bangkok Hospital Dental Centre and their price for a Straumann dental implant is 120k. Please don't post misinformation. You wrote "north of 70k two years ago" and it's 120k there now.

I reiterate my initial statement to get out of Bangkok if you want sensible pricing.

Did you have a link to the BHDC pricing?

back-most lower molar

Omg, leave it, no one sees it, you don't need it.

What are you thinking??????

A front tooth, yes, but not a molar.

We have too many teeth in our head.

Put that money to good cause, send the kids to Thailand for a holiday, treat yourself.

Don't waste your money.

TBH, I don't believe you paid 70k for Straumann at BHDC. I enquired with many years ago and they we more than that then. Perhaps 80k+

So somewhat unlikely you paid 70k there.

BIDC perhaps: https://bangkokdentalcenter.com/fees/

I’ve been going to BHDC for well over twenty years, back when it was in the main building.

But yet you were way off with the pricing. Perhaps you had your implant twenty years ago. That might explain your 70k fantasy 😊....or do you think their price jumped 50k in two years?
