A recent post by @Mazungu was deemed unacceptable because it came from a "social media" website and according to the AN rules and regulations and was therefore closed. I for one, have no problems with that because the integrity of the AN website and posts has to be kept intact.

 

However some of the content did raise a few questions for me and I would like to explore these in my own words, rather than it being deigned "typical standard swill from a leftist website...... so the questions I have for the trump supporters are as follows: –

 

– Why do you throw your support behind a convicted felon, and yes they are bona fide convictions and not from "lefties" as you tend to label them?

 

– How on earth can you support a man who helped incite the first attack on the US capital since 1812, to attempt a coup which could have possibly succeeded if it weren't for a VP who stood staunch against this attack. And before the answers take the "it was only a minor rally" route, then consider how many of the attackers have been jailed so far, found guilty by juries containing both GOP and Democrat supporters?

 

– If you are looking for a president who is basically honest (and please don't come back at me with the standard quip; all politicians lie response), because maybe they do tell the occasional untruth, but trump has been documented as having told over 30,000 lies and mistruths during and after his presidency so how do you support a man like that?

 

– He has cheated on his wives, paid hookers hush money to keep quiet and demeaned women in general, so has very low to non-existent morals.

 

– Rather than take up too many pages, this will be the last; he has denigrated an American war hero and American war veterans and mocked the disabled, so how can you support a "so-called" man like this.

 

Finally, trump is not respected by other world leaders because they have first-hand experience of speaking with him, that he is not the "sharpest knife in the drawer" and the CEOs from America's top companies have labelled him "dumb" and "he doesn't know what he's talking about"! Surely their word has to mean something in today's world??

Oh great, another left rant. Why not throw Hitler into it as well?

You must be Russian. We don't have Kangaroo courts in the US. Trump was charged and convicted through the US judicial system. He was convicted by a jury of his peers just like every other convicted felon. If you don't like that then you must hate law and order.

This post pretty much explains it.  Trump supporters buy into the lies.  Not just about Trump, but about his political opponents.  As for the question about "decent Americans".....I suppose anyone can fall for a scam or con.

There is no evidence that the charges were political. None! The GOP has tried to proof that, they couldn't. On the other hand there are plenty of proof that Trump tried to politicise the justice department when he was president, and he has promised to do it again to go after his opponents. That is one of the reasons experts says he fit the definition of a fascist.

For the Harris supporters here, while a tenth may sound greater (bigger) than a fourth, it is actually smaller. I know it seems counterintuitive to the those with advanced degrees, so feel free to google it and post link that proves me wrong. 

The facts are that those who support Trump are NOT moral, decent Americans.  If they were, they would never support a convicted felon (they make excuses to say he was convicted unfairly,) a misogynist who cheated on his first wife while she was pregnant, cheated on wife number two while she was pregnant, stole from a Children's Cancer fund and now is forbidden to open any business in the entire state of New York, was taken to court for non-payment and breach of contract by hundreds of different contractors, lied about hush money to a porn star, .... hell... the list is just too long.
If you support Trump, you have no morals. It's that simple.

 Back in the USA I used to do government work outsourced to a large SE Asian immigrant community in Southern California. the majority are VNmese boat people. These are hard working folks, grateful for a new lease on life after fleeing the North VN VCs.  However Little Saigon is a hot bed of Trump supporters. You don't see much MAGA redness because these folks true to their Asian root don't want to put themselves on display. However in the most violent Jan6 video clips, you often see the old South VN flag (yellow with 3 red horizontal stripes) flying on top of the "citadel." I lost a dear co worker/friend when I sent him a congratulary email on Nov6 asking whether the local folks are getting ready to party down yet? His answer, "Not so quick" along with a pic of Biden superimposed upon the background of a cemetery and a caption saying "How many dead people voted for Biden?"

My answer to OP question is DEFINE "decent". Decent mean you recognize the law as it stands and not trying to tear down the constitution every which way but loose. Decent means recognize AND respect the truth instead of promoting lies such as "the election is rigged therefore I'm going to de-rig it with "Stop the Steal" and Jan6." Decency means not attacking your country, your fellow country men/women, your constitution and your laws - only traitors or enemies from outside would commit these acts. So please don't give these "folks" ("folks" is still too polite a word to foist upon these creatures) the dignity of the label "Decent". In short, Decency is definitely not in their DNA.
