PMZ Posted November 8 Posted November 8 The '26' is because it is in the 26th sub soi of Ramkamhaeng. It is a mostly Thai area, also with a big University. It depends what you want it for, rental/investment or for you to live there. If it is for you to live in, where do you have to go for work? This is far from the main Sukhumvit area, so only useful if you work in that area. There is a lot of traffic in this area and no BTS/MRT at present (coming I believe). If it is for investment/rental, it is an OK area as many Thai's to rent it and also many Uni students. You would need to check the rental values of the building at the noticeboards in the building or online. It will not be high rental rates. 2
georgegeorgia Posted November 8 Author Posted November 8 I could see a SkyTrain from the condo window ?
Popular Post LosLobo Posted November 8 Popular Post Posted November 8 I rented an apartment for a couple of months 10 years ago about a kilometre from there, between Raja Mangala Stadium and The Nine Shopping Centre on Phra Ram 9. Traffic at peak times can horrendous, especially on Ramkhamhaeng Road and everywhere else when there are stadium events. The University area has plenty of visual appeal (aka eye candy), and The Mall Bangkapi is an excellent shopping centre. There's a few young westerners around studying at the Uni, but its mainly a Thai area and you will need to speak some Thai. There's two 50-meter pools at the Huamark Sports Centre, located next to the stadium. The Huamark Airport Link provides easy travel access and is close to the airport. Consider renting an apartment for a couple of nights to explore the area. You'll find great daily accommodations at nearby @Home Residence. 2 1
digbeth Posted November 8 Posted November 8 orange line underground in front won't be operational until 2027 at least, the stations and tunnel are completed, the worst of traffic distuption is over, just no trains till the rest of the line is built and even then traffic is bad in the back is the airport rail link, a bit harder to get to, also easy access to the expressway and motorway to the airport there are 2 big university, the Ramkamhaeng open university, usually full of working class students and from the south, often muslim so plenty of mulim workers and food in the area, the other is private Assumption University (ABAC) ususally rich kids so easy to rent out during big concerts at the stadium the traffic will be unbearable ther used to be smaller 'the mall' shopping malls around the area but they demolished most of it waiting to be rebuilt after the trains start running maybe, at the moment there's a small 'the mall' on the opposite side of the road, now there's only supermarket department running, there's the big 'the mall' shopping center that's recently renovated on Bang Kapi the next big road away oh, the are around there is a low lying basin - essentially lowest area of Bangkok that's prone to flooding, there has been big flooding in the 80s 1

Reminds me there is also some alternate transport at RU Pier about 10 mins walk from the OP, on the Klong San Saeb Express. I was even thinking of buying an apartment in the area for investment, and my stepdaughter who will likely be attending RU in a few years.
