Scouse123
If a person wishes to move from retirement to DTV, can they operate them simultaneously, is there a way of doing this? Has anybody done this?? There seems to be no way of cancelling a retirement extension as I cannot leave and come back again without a re-entry permit, (thus voiding a retirement extension), because I already have a multi re-entry permit. My retirement extension will not finish until July 2025. My concern would be if they start to tighten up on DTV requirements or changing the requirements, then missing out. It seems a low threshold of requirements and documents required to qualify at this moment in time. It's a long time in Thailand to July 2025, with all the flip-flopping that can occur. Furthermore, it only needs to be a slightly successful project, and then my fear is, the powers-that-be will interfere and turn the requirements upside down and inside out. Suggest you relax. If things change with DTV then perhaps not a good idea to have obtained one. You are good till July 2025 so just wait. You could ask your particular immigration office which I'm thinking won't be helpful.
BrandonJT
I've read quite a few reports of people who got a re-entry permit for their stamps before going to apply for a DTV in Laos. They got the re-entry permit in the event their application for DTV was denied, but they received their DTV without issue and were stamped into Thailand using the DTV without issue.
