We'll find out when Trump's tariffs mean China won't be buying any more Oz dirt.

It's not looking good for a country that depends on selling dirt.

Yeah, Kiwis are really jealous they have nothing to sell but snow.

How much wealth in terms of social welfare are those ethnic minority groups absorbing?

Better than being owned by Germany!

Really. Didn't King George V change the royal family's name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor in 1917, to avoid anti-German sentiment?

Trump has inherited a “turd of an economy,” and when things “roll over,” he’ll be the one blamed for it. This dire news comes from COVID vaccine data analyst and former BlackRock asset manager Edward Dowd.

Dowd predicts things could “unravel anytime between now and March.” And if the incoming Trump administration doesn’t “get out in front of the narrative,” then they are “going to get blamed for what is coming.”

“The real economy (not the stock market) has been rolling over,” Dowd lamented, “and we’re just waiting for the financial markets to figure this out. They will. And when they do, unfortunately, Trump will inherit turd of a financial market crisis.”

I'm still waiting for the unemployment numbers to reflect all the "newcomers" that are without work.  I think they're waiting for Trump to get in before they add them to the "available labor pool".  At which time, there will be a spike in unemployment.  And they'll blame it on Trump, though it's Harris/Biden's fault.

I'll let you Google Edward Dowd to figure out if he's credible.

No, he's not credible at all. One of the original anti-vax conspiracy theorists who claimed millions have died. Lives in Maui, I think, where he seems to spend his time ruminating on the apocalypse.

As you're Australian, why do you care?

No need to be an American to be interested in the politics of one of the most important countries in the world...

IF the US economy is so "GOOD", answer me why so many NATIONAL COMPANIES - companies with stores in many states / many locations IN state, are CLOSING and filing for bankruptcy protection.

Because legacy stores are giving way to online shopping.

There's a difference between being interested, and being obsessed by one man that's probably just a puppet for the same people as the last 50 years of presidents and candidates.

Nothing to do with economy!

It's E-Commerce!

Since COVID online retail is now the name of the game.
Bricks and mortar stores are a thing of the past

IMO bricks and mortar stores will still be around. There are some things no-one wants to buy online, due to the risk.

It's a sometimes painful process of adaptation.

My X-apartment in USA, ALONE ( large 1BR in a apartment complex ) is now rented @ $1050.00USD a month. My cost in Thailand ( 2BR, Yard, Garden including all Utilities and 2 Mobiles in a gated community ( also my cost for a storage unit has DOUBLED in past 2 years ) is UNDER $1000US. I live here, ONE of the reasons, is value for monies.

The economy is excellent if you are part of the asset ownership class. If you're not, the economy sucks. That says Wall Street and asset prices are disconnected from Main Street. Trump knows the state of the economy much better than you, that I can guarantee.

There's a lot of low-paying jobs.

You better have a good education OR have worked your butt off to move up in some company.

Life can be hard for low income earners.

And Trump ain't gonna help you if you don't help yourself.

Life can be hard.

You're saying you never stood by Biden in the last year or so. Laughable.

Never said that. I support Biden concerning unwarranted and unpleasant MAGA attacks

Many confuse the news with the truth

Snipped for brevity. Reporters are required to report, not to make their own personal judgement of the news, that's for opinion / editorials.. In addition there are now a number of fact check organisations, including within media companies to also address lies and misinformation; unfortunately they are often ridiculed by MAGA world.

I don't recall any posts from you supporting that. All I recall is your lot claiming that he was fine and going to crush Trump. Even denying that Biden's debate fiasco was caused by his mental deterioration, and claiming it was because it was because he had a cold. :cheesy:

Don't recall commenting on the debate. I too though it a disaster. There again trump has made absolutely stupid comments which are overlooked or deflected by MAGA world.

The security services have the final say on all broadcasts from western media. They also have a say on staff recruitment for 'sensitive' jobs in the media.

The stuff Trump spouts is one of the reasons we support him. We have had enough of slimy politicians reading speeches written for them that promise things they have no intention of doing. Trump says things that he makes up as he goes along, like a real human being does.

Did anyone actually believe anything Harris said, not that she actually said much other than word salad? On important things like Palestine, she never said anything definite and just dodged the question.

Unfortunate you will not look at factual content. Australia is also more expensive to live after Covid. IMO much to do with price gauging which the government is finally acting upon with the supermarkets. Would MAGA accuse Biden of being a Marxist if he attempted to intervene with the markets, probably Yes. If trump, No.

Not always in time to prevent leaks, but sure for reporting aligned to national security matters

When did Trump ever say he would "help" low income earners? I must have missed that speech.

The US is not a nanny socialist country. It's up to people to work hard and get educated if they want to get rich, not expect other people to give them money, like they do, unfortunately, in most western countries.

Yes life is hard, and that something the bludgers are going to find out in western countries that are broke because of liberal loony policies.
