I'd go with the air filter change idea.

When the mixture (petrol/air) is a bit weak, the engine runs hotter and may smell hot (something burning) and of course the engine won't have the power it normally has and will readily stall.

He took it to an official dealership.

They said the airfilter was dirty and blocking the flow.

The changed the airfilter, oil filter, oil, and new brake pads and fluid. 1500 baht.

He drove it away and 5 minutes the same thing happened again, but with no burning smell. Just spluttering and stopping when the engine is warm.

They changed that and the scooter still spluttered and stalled after warming up then wouldn't restart until cool again.

I read this on google and it makes sense.

If the new fuel filter and new spark plug doesn't fix the issue, I guess a new fuel pump is next?

If it has a fuel pump the engine must be FI, not a carb ,which makes sense as most new bikes are now FI, that would be the problem, the fuel pump or the, I think? the senser, that meters the fuel needs cleaning, I had this problem on my Wave, that was cleaned then no problems.

Thanks.

Air filter and oil filter have already been changed.

Now, they are being instructed to change the fuel filter and the spark plug.

If that doesn't work, the next job will be to change the fuel pump. After that would be sensors etc. 🙄

Why can't mechanics here actually find and diagnose the problem, then solve it, instead of just changing various parts to see if it is them. 🙄

You want to check the price of a fino fule pump, for a wave, they are about 2500 baht, check the sensor first,as I said might just what cleaning.

Does the Bike has an Injector System? Have had the same before with my Honda Zoomer and have changed the Injector Nozzle and cleaned the complete Fuel System. After that all was fine and Motorbike still running well.
