I am not an expert on the United States Constitution (that bit appears to be missing from my copy of the bible - I blame those bloody Chinese printers); but there again actually I am not convinced that many others posting here are, including some of the most enthusiastic supporters of Mr Trump!

 

However, it is my understanding that matters of funding, staffing and management of Federal Agencies, including the creation of new government departments, are firmly in the hands of Congress, which rather reduces the status of Messrs Musk and Ramaswamy to the status of lobbyists!

While there is no doubt that government bloat and inefficiencies could be cut, the kinds of drastic, wholesale deletions of complete government departments will lead to future health, environmental and financial disasters.  The US Government is far from perfect, but it does work to keep children and working people safe and to restrain rapacious business practices.

 

I believe that we are saving money now only to have to spend it in the future, cleaning up the mess the next 4 years will leave behind.

For the time being, it's just a show for the gullible and ignorant.

Currently, the share of telework in the Federal administration is lowe than in the private sector.

I have seen a few restructuring and redundancy schemes occurring. It's usually the best ones who leave, because they can easily find another job.

 

If they do it in the way they are presenting it, it will be a big mess. And, of course, the MAGA whiners will blame the deep state for it!
