The reality is that the UK has been badly governed for generations. Two tier policing/sentencing is just a further indication that the downward slide in Britain is going from bad to worse. Very sad to see. -

Really? And what is this propaganda that has been fed to the Chinese citizens? That there are many homeless people in the States? That there is a drug problem? That there are many mass shootings? That America has been in over 70 wars since WWII? That many Americans live paycheck to paycheck and that some have to take out loans to pay for their groceries? That America has the highest number of prisoners per capita in the world? On the other hand, the recent exodus of TikTok refugees to the Little Red Book has many Americans admitting that they have been fed falsehoods about China and life in China. Open your eyes. China does not want war with America but America is trying to contain China in order to hang on desperately to its hegemony. -

Going way back before COVID, an analysis of average road deaths vs. the number of deaths during Songkran showed that the average daily road deaths in Thailand were higher than their posted deaths during the Songkran period. -

Witht the daily reporting of a foreigner doing something wrong her, some don't realize that 99% of criminal and stupid activity here is still locals against locals. More than 99%... but most of it is of no interest to the social media rhetoric that either likes to point the finger at foreigners, or serves foreign social media. There is also the element that when Thai's commit violence it considered normal by many because it is expected and they know no better, where as foreigners 'should' know better than to behave as they have, for some reason attracting more commentary.- 1

German Tourists Hit by Songthaew While Using Zebra Crossing in Khao Lak
There is a lot going on here. Unfortunately for the family they pay a big price and they have my sympathy. It is unfortunate that they failed to look “both” ways. It's unfortunate that the guy in the fast lane stopped for them. He should know better! Thai drivers don't see this as a red light! Thai drivers mostly don't see a zebra crossing at all! Also a vehicle behind this “stopper” as a rule will swerve into the other lane to get by! It's unfortunate that zebra crossings give many a false sense of security. It's unfortunate that zebra crossings in this country don't work like other countries. What they offer is a place to cross at your own risk.
