My personal situation is irrelevant and none of your business.

Leftist governments were amongst the most illiberal and authoritarian during Covid. Trudeau, Ardern, Daniel Andrews etc.

It's in their nature to try to control others.

"We will continue to be your single source of truth" etc. - Ardern. Sinister.

I notice you miss out the British (Tory) Government.

But of course their lockdowns were for the plebs to obey.

"Mantel said she spent five years researching and writing the book, trying to match her fiction to the historical record.[6] To avoid contradicting history she created a card catalogue, organised alphabetically by character, with each card containing notes indicating where a particular historical figure was on relevant dates. "You really need to know, where is the Duke of Suffolk at the moment? You can't have him in London if he's supposed to be somewhere else," she explained. '

Not sure how having black actors portraying characters fits in with that, kinda contradicts history.

It’s still a fictional novel and TV drama.

Its not history, although clearly it has triggered some histrionics.

But none were from sub sharan Africa as the BBC and woke black activists lie about. There is a record of a legion from Mauretania Caesariensis, at Hadrians wall present day Algeria in N Africa, but they were not black, nor were there any black Emperors, nor was Cleopatra black and no black aristocrats in Henry V111's court either. We are being continually lied to with these invented histories.

I’m not sure on what basis you claim to know the race of African legionnaires posted in Roman Briton.

What ‘invented histories’?

True...not an aristocrat......

John Blanke, a Black trumpeter in Henry VIII’s court, is one of the most well-documented Black individuals from this era. He is depicted in the Westminster Tournament Roll (1511), an illuminated manuscript, where he is shown playing the trumpet during royal ceremonies. He is also recorded to have petitioned Henry VIII for a pay raise, which was granted.

You’ll not get a sensible response.

Indeed.

And you can imagine the uproar if the situation was reversed and a white actor was given the role of MLK or Muhammed Ali. The world would stop turning.

They start banging on about cultural appropriation if a white guy dares to have dreads but have no issue with black women straightening their hair.

DEI is fine as long as you only discriminate against white people, apparently.

Make fun of Christianity all day long but mention Islam and you're Islamaphobic.

Black pride is fine, but dare to wave the Union flag and you're a white supremacist racist.

The hypocrisy of the Wokeists is astounding. 😆 The fact they claim they cannot see it makes me question their intelligence/honesty.

I’m with you Jonny, to an extent.

Jesus wasn’t white with blue eyes and blond hair.

I guess you have to take the wins when ever you can get them.

None were BLACK Africans, unless you have a link from the Guardian claiming other wise.

The author is quite clear she is seeking to be historically accurate, so that rules out black people in high places at that time.

Historically, the contribution of Afro Caribbean troops in WW1 and 2 has been shamefully underrepresented, but other than that.....

^ Film probably made by White middle class lefty liberals who are trying to unite the population and make everyone the same .

They don't realise that many  Black Britons are proud of their African/Caribbean heritage and they don't want to be 10 th generation British .

"Your heritage dates back to Roman times*

"No , it doesn't my Grandmother came to the UK from the Caribbean in the 1960"*

"No, your great great great great great great great great great great grandfather was a Roman soldier from Italy  stationed in the UK

I don’t think the author specified the race of any of the actors that might portray characters in her fictional novel.

You might have evidence to the contrary.

Which Black Britons do you speak for?

what a pathetic' response, I hardly think someone who was so concerned with historical accuracy they were actually checking if someone would have been present, actually thought it necessary to specify that the characters shouldn't be black.

Your claim.

Now where’s your evidence?

The concept of sub Saharan African legionaries is so out there, I think it is up to you to prove that there were if that is what you were suggesting.

Always demanding evidence from people but slinking away when you are asked. Your tactics are plain for all to see.

BBC's influence on football. Premier League players still taking the knee, despite the utterly discredited BLM scam. Rainbow armbands an laces obligatory yesterday FFS. And at least one woman commentator/pundit for every men's match.

And have you watched Wolf Hall (great series by the way)? Incredible the number of black people at the court of Henry III. But I'm sure it's historically accurate, as approved by the BBC's 'fact checkers'. They are running a ludicrously self-righteous ad at the moment. boasting about their reporters' 'tireless search for the truth'. Not an ounce of introspection or self awareness in that doomed organisation.

And this concerns you because...?

No it’s not for me to prove anything I haven’t claimed.

You’ve made the claims, you get to back them up.

Historical accuracy pertains to real historical events.

Not fictional drama.

The fact that there is no mention of sub Saharan legionaries is of itself proof. You are like religious people saying it is up to everyone else to prove that God doesn't exist rather than them to prove that he does seeming as it is them claiming his existence.

Just watching firebrand about Catherine Parr, Henry 8th again. Yet more black Africans at court, but not the same ones as in Woke Hall2. Why is is always blacks in this re written history, why not Chinese, Indians or native Americans?

Isn't this a historical 'costume drama', or are they all dressed in Reeboks, and fiddling with their 'phones?

I’m beginning to think the producers should include trigger warnings.

I think the producers should include historical inaccuracy warnings, lest people think it true, or is that the intention/ We know the answer to that, don't we children.

I thought they did, statements along the lines of ‘events and people portrayed are fictional etc’

I always thought these motives were superfluous but now I realize there are some awfully sensitive folks out there who get disturbed by fiction and drama.

People get disturbed by the revisionism - the attempt to rewrite history to suit current political agendas.

If all the characters are fictional why the authors focus on historical accuracy WRT to wether a named historical figure could have been a t a certain place at a certain time?

Once again.

Its a fictional drama.

I enjoyed it and wasn’t in the slightest bit triggered.

The list of awards it won suggests others enjoyed it too

Could make a drama about the UK race riots of the 1980's?

Could have a Black police force attacking White kids hanging around in Wimbledon common ?

The Black National Front attacking old White ladies on the streets of Guildford ?

You clearly have a take talent for imagining stuff.

Write it up, you never know you might make a fortune.
