You claimed UNWRA is doing essential work. I responded. You seem to enjoy making claims but want to hide from responses you don't agree with

There's going to be a response to the mothers plea? He made a statement on Gaza after his meeting with her already and failed to mention her or her daughter who is currently in a terror tunnel possible being sexually abuse in Gaza

I think better to wait for a response rather than immediately reach for the antisemitism accusation.

But I accept opinions and motives differ.

How do you know there's going to be a response? Did you actually read my post?

Like you I don’t, nor, like you, do I know there will not be.

That’s not too difficult to understand is it Brian?!

I never claimed he would or not though, you were the one who said:

"You’ve not even waited for any response to the ‘mother’s plea’, "

But I see you've now walked that back.

What is your last bit about do I understand what?

I’m not going to walk it back, it’s a factual observation.

You did already, stop being dishonest:

Your first claim

"You’ve not even waited for any response to the ‘mother’s plea’, "

Your second attempt after being called out:

"Like you I don’t, nor, like you, do I know there will not be."

Still waiting for this bit though.

You deserve it, frankly, Chomper.

It has been demonstrated unequivocally over the last 14 months that UNWRA is virtually "totally owned" by HAMAS.

They were involved in October 7th, their staff were amongst the HAMA killers who rampaged through Southern Israel, raping and slaughtering. Their staff have subsequently been found to be holding hostages. Their infrastructure is openly  used to hide and store weapons, and launch rockets. The schools and hospitals they fund are used extensively as bases for HAMAS.

Your political enthusiasms have led you to excuse, deny and defend their actions. You most certainly, actively support UNWRA, which is, as I have said, an active participant in terror. It is very much to the United Kingdom, the Labour Party and it's government shame that it has resumed funding UNWRA, and you should be ashamed to acclaim it.

It is most certainly is not a baseless accusation; don't hide behind (the inevitable) self righteous bluster, come out and admit it, you support a (the) prime enabler of anti Israel and anti semitic terrorism.

It absolutely is a baseless and very serious accusation.

Forgive me if I am wrong but wasn't Emily Damari taken hostage while the Conservative government was in office? It appears the effort to release her was in the Tory court for a long time.

No it doesn’t, but nice try.

It does indicate Labour’s support for the essential work UNWRA do with refugees of the decades long Israeli/Palestinian conflict, work that is even more essential under the current destruction of Palestinian civilian dwellings, schools, hospitals and infrastructure.

Its getting less and less essential as we speak. From the horses mouth so to speak...........

UNRWA chief @UNLazzarini admits for the first time that "the trucks being brought in by UNRWA could be brought in by anyone else." This is obvious and we have been saying it for months. The UN has been lying by calling UNRWA's humanitarian operation "irreplaceable."

The problem may well be that his handlers are a bit slow ( possibly due to embarrassment at the fix they/Lammy have found themselves in) in issuing the "party line".

So in what airmen may call a "holding pattern"!

.....................and the destruction of the terrorist group Hamas .

It is important to mention the main task of the Israeli campaign to bring the terrorists to justice .

Actually, it should be the first thing that's mentioned

*work that is even more essential under the current destruction of the Hamas terror group who commited war crimes and atrocities along with  Palestinian civilian dwellings, schools, hospitals and infrastructure*

Do they? From the same publication on the same date but in reference to a resolution that the UK agreed to back in November.

British hostage’s mum: UK decision to back UN ceasefire motion ‘broke my heart’

In a speech delivered in from of the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary at the Labour Friends of Israel annual reception in central London, Mandy Damari said: “Last month, the government voted for an unconditional ceasefire in the UN that would leave Emily and the other hostages in the hands of Hamas, giving them no incentive to release them.

“That vote shocked me and it broke my heart. Nobody is more supportive of peace than I am, nobody. But there will be no peace until Emily and all the hostages are brought home. Those who are alive should be returned to their family.”

From your linked article:

Her (Damari’s) condemnation of the UN vote led to a response from the PM when he delivered his speech. Starmer tells LFI reception release of hostages ‘number one item’ for a Gaza ceasefire

In a speech that received loud applause, and a standing ovation when it ended, Damari said she wished to thank both Keir Starmer and David Lammy for raising the profile of her daughter’s plight following a meeting with her.

Please note this refers to the Government response you and others yesterday jumped the gun on.

Please note there is a reason the US did not vote for the resolution:

US vetoes UN resolution demanding a cease-fire in Gaza because there’s no link to a hostage release

Jumped the gun? the response above was a reference to the speech the mum gave at the UN not the speech she gave in London.

“Damari said she wished to thank both Keir Starmer and David Lammy for raising the profile of her daughter’s plight following a meeting with her.”

My heart goes out for this mother, indeed any parent of any hostage in this heinous hostage taking.

I’m also pleased the British PM is listening to her.

He listens in front of her and does the opposite behind her back. Disgusting but yes your pleased.

They said one thing to me, and then did another,’ she told the Mail. ‘Maybe they talk behind closed doors about her, but supporting this UN motion shows that when it comes down to it, they are not doing enough to get her home alive.

‘This decision basically signs a death warrant for her if there is no demand for a hostage release at the same time as a ceasefire.

‘My daughter should be returned home alive now before it’s too late for her and she comes back to me in a body bag.’

No that's why there is one. :saai:

It’s always worth checking articles before you post links:

From the failing Daily Mail article:

“Ms Damari told the Mail last month how she had asked Sir Keir Starmer to do ‘far more’ for her child - but just weeks later he broke his word.”

As your link to the Jewish News article demonstrates, things have moved on since Ms Damari spoke to the Daily Mail.

There you go with your condescending snidey comments. What makes you think I don't check links? The Mail is referencing her latest comments just a couple of days ago. Enough of your dishonest deflection and failed shooting the messenger with your childish reference to the " failing Daily Mail article" which happens to be a true and accurate quote from just a couple of days ago.

Another fail by you.

The mum and her daughter are the most important part of this and they feel let down by the British Gov, that is a fact. I would not be surprised if they turn to Trump and see his response as far more relevant.

Oh wait, from her latest interview just yesterday after the failed response from Starmer and zero response from Lammy.

She also welcomed US President-elect Donald Trump’s statement that there would be “hell to pay” if the hostages were not released before he takes office in January, saying: “It made me a bit more optimistic”.

The Jewish News article you linked provides a very clear timeline, refer quotation I posted.

The failing Dail Mail admits it reporting statements made last month.
