Bump above outer ankle bone, what is it?

I noticed about a week ago I've got this bump above my ankle bone, maybe 3cm in diameter. When I press it, it goes inwards then comes back to it's original shape when I release it. There's no pain at all. I've attached a picture. Anyone have any idea what it is?

If it moves easily and feels sort of rubbery (and painless) then may be a lipoma. Harmless if so.

Ganglion cyst. Not cancerous.

 

Some ganglion cysts go away on their own, while others remain small and cause no problems.

Lipoma was also what I thought when I Googled the possible things it could be, as well as a possible cyst.

Ganglion cyst - it says it can be caused by excessive use of the joint. I sprained my other ankle and had to hop around and bear full weight on the good leg for a number of days. I think this lump developed around this time, but I'm not 100% certain as I didn't really pay any attention to my ankles prior.

Have you checked to see if your right <deleted> is where it's supposed to be?
