How the Woke Turned a Suspected Killer Into a Cultural Icon

It starts............I hope the likes of that woke idiot Taylor Lorenz take note and reflect on what they said.

The posters seen around lower Manhattan this week showed the names and faces of Wall Street and healthcare executives. The signs encouraged violence against them. “Health care CEOs should not feel safe,” the posters said. One displayed Brian Thompson, the UnitedHealthcare chief who was killed, with a red X over his face.

Rather than just post a screenshot, why don't you do something less disingenuous and link to it so that people can see what she actually said? If one was to take your post at face value, they might come away thinking it was truthful.

Well its not like its not been widely reported with numerous links

Elizabeth Warren outrageously sympathizes with UnitedHealthcare CEO killer: ‘People can only be pushed so far’

Thompson — and others who cheered the murderer on — claiming “people can only be pushed so far,” before condemning the violence.

“The visceral response from people across the country who feel cheated, ripped off, and threatened by the vile practices of their insurance companies should be a warning to everyone in the health care system,” Warren (D-Mass.) told the Huffington Post in an interview.

“Violence is never the answer, but people can only be pushed so far.”

Of course, she walked back the statement later, much like Taylor Lorenz, but it was too late for her, she got sacked for her disgusting comments

The Woke? On the contrary, it is anyone but the woke supporting  the alleged murderer.

He is being cast as a champion of the working people by the alt right.

Instagram is now overflowing with fangirls, and  the latest this morning is that  Luigi is allegedly bisexual, so naturally the gay influencers are falling over themselves to offer their adoration.

We saw the same thing occur with the mass murderer at the Boston marathon. People fixated on his dark brooding good looks. Since he was moved to  the specialized  Supermax Prison, he has morphed into a bloated hairy psychologically distressed man who has been abandoned by his former admirers. This will be the fate of Luigi the madman.

Thanks for that. I get a couple US papers online, cities I used to live or work in, one of which is populist right in orientation. They have had articles, best interpretation of them is 'sympathetic'. No one likes the healthcare in the US.

Leave it to the rightwing retiree crowd here to fixate on WOKE, they got that on the brainpan. Still it gives our geriatric keyboard warriors something to do.

Why did you misrepresent and twist  her a statement of of context?

What she actually did was to CONDEMN the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on Tuesday.

She was asked to comment on the support that was being expressed for the attack and she gave an accurate and honest explanation when she stated that  “Violence is never the answer". She spoke to the bigger picture when she observed that

This is a warning that if you push people hard enough, they lose faith in the ability of their government to make change, lose faith in the ability of the people who are providing the health care to make change, and start to take matters into their own hands in ways that will ultimately be a threat to everyone.

Because of people like you presenting her statement out of context, Senator Warren clarified  the intent  to make it easier for the simple minded to comprehend;   “Violence is never the answer. Period. I should have been much clearer that there is never a justification for murder.”

What part of "violence is never the answer" are you struggling with?

I'm not struggling with anything, I quoted from the article. What part of the whole quote are you struggling with and why do you think she walked it back?

I know that's what she said, but nowhere has she expressed sympathy for the alleged murderer. She has suggested that vigilantism can be the result of predatory practices by unscrupulous businesses but that's not any suggestion of empathy.

You know what she said but chose to edit her quote and censor the offending line. Yea right

The one she later withdrew, you know, the one you edited and censored, can you not read my post with the full quote vs yours with the edit...........

Re: "people can only be pushed so far" there is no record that Mr. Mangione was a UnitedHealthcare policy holder individually or through employment or that he had any financial problems regarding his back surgery whether covered by insurance or not.

The only record seems to be his mention online that he was treated for irritable bowel syndrome by BlueCross/BlueShield.

So, this does not seem to be a case that someone was 'pushed' by a personal experience with a healthcare insurer denying coverage.

I made no edit or censor. I posted the sentence in its entirety, and previously linked to her entire statement.

Why not show your hand and make clear what you find offensive in her words. Where did she express sympathy for the alleged murderer?

Dishonesty gets you nowhere, here is the sentence in its entirety, not your edited version below.

There was nothing dishonest about my posts, just as there is no empathy shown towards the alleged murderer in that statement that you are so desperately clinging onto.

She is merely stating a fact that people have known since stone age times - if you poke a sleeping bear enough, don't be surprised if it attacks. Do you genuinely think that this isn't a fact of life?

Of course, the right wing NY Post is going to push the line that  all corporations are benevolent and it's owners are national treasures who only have our best interests at heart. It's just a pity that there are so many pliant dupes willing to repeat their lines. That's why nothing ever changes for the better.

You really aren't making any sense or cogent point; you are just repeating the same poorly thought out line and accusing others of dishonesty.

What part of her statement expressed sympathy for the alleged murderer?

Once again you resort to personal attacks, simply because you can’t provide any credible evidence to back the baseless claims you make.

Which kind of demolishes the veracity of every statement you make, including your personal attacks.

That describes nearly every post @G_Money has ever written.

You’re finally seeing the truth.  Slowly but surely.

It was intended as sarcasm, but even the interpretation of that requires some intellectual power. Did your mother tell you that you were special when you were growing up?

The OED defines dishonesty as "a fraudulent or deceitful act".

Please provide details of where I acted either fraudulently or deceitfully.

I won't ask you again to highlight the statement from Warren which expressed sympathy for the alleged murderer - I am aware that you can't, because she didn't.

Correct, as evidenced in your posts where you claimed you never edited her quote when you did. Extremely deceitful.

Now can you be trusted to visit the article link where she clearly states why she walked back the statement, the full statement I mean, not the one you edited and censored and then claimed you didn't. Because all your answers are actually contained there if you can read them.

I don't bother debating with dishonest debaters.

There is nothing dishonest about me or my posts however you are trying hard to deflect from your numerous posts where you either lied outright about Warren's statement, or you are displaying a woeful inability to actually comprehend what you read.

But don't worry, I won't make you squirm any more - have a good day.

You’ll therefore have no problem providing a quote from the link focused on the precise comment where she expresses sympathy for the alleged murderer.
