While "very hard" means something is extremely challenging and requires significant effort, "impossible" signifies that something cannot be done at all, no matter how hard you try; essentially, "very hard" is a high level of difficulty, but still achievable, while "impossible" is completely unattainable.

Before the election, he did not say it will be very hard, he said he will bring them down immediately! That doesn't sound at all like "very hard"¡ 😆
