December 12, 20241 yr Popular Post Slice, dice, and freeze. Otherwise they should last in the fridge a good week depending on the ripeness. Green mangoes can sit outside of a fridge for a good couple of weeks and longer in the fridge.

December 12, 20241 yr Right now is about as far as you can get from sweet mango season. But if you like them sour you are fine. The Thai's often use a dip called Nam Pla Wan and dip the green mango before eating.

December 13, 20241 yr Popular Post If you put mangoes n the fridge, you need to put them in the warmest part of the fridge . They should not be kept cold. Avoid wrapping them in plastic as mangoes give off ethylene gas which will ripen them very quick if enclosed should keep at about 10-12 degrees I spent my whole life in the produce industry, so I do consider myself an expert
December 14, 20241 yr Peel, slice and freeze in plastic or ZipLoc bags. Makes an excellent treat on hot days.

And to me both looked same... Go by the squirrels, if the hole is small - not ripe, if half eaten then they are ripe. I know the problem, bit difficult to tell when they are 15 foot in the air. Wife gets annoyed when I pick them too soon but I like to get there before the squirrels, they soften up in a few days.
