How can I get them back?

Many important files in that format. MS really fkd up this time!

Can I use "Recovery" GoBack with Win 11? I used it many times with Win 10.

Idiots;

"WordPad is a word processor software designed by Microsoft that was included in versions of Windows from Windows 95 through Windows 11, version 23H2. Similarly to its predecessor Microsoft Write, it served as a basic word processor, positioned as more advanced than the Notepad text editor by supporting rich text editing, but with a subset of the functionality of Microsoft Word. Microsoft removed WordPad in Windows 11 24H2 and it has no successor."

Don't panic. Your Rich Text files are still there. They've just been associated with Microsoft Office.

You can simply restore WordPad and re-associate the file to it.

I googled and found they say; IF you got "Office 365" .rtf app is included.

I do have that. I don't think I ever use it.

When I click old .rtf page menu "what to use" shows up but there is non Office 365 listed.

How do I get it there?

Could be helpful if you mention at least one, the easiest to use,  and how to use it.

If you like WordPad, then just reinstall it. Otherwise use Word, Libre Office or what ever you like.
