So after banging up hundreds of Brits for misinformation for correctly linking the case to the religion of peace they needed to do it on a day everyone was distracted.

I think she got off lightly - a more severe sentence would have been appropriate for two reasons. 

1) politicians, no matter how reprehensible they may be, should (like the rest of us) be allowed to go about their business without fear of assault or attack. 

2) Farage is widely recognised as being an odious and loathesome purveyor of packaged hatred for a pliant minority. Anything that gives  him the opportunity to sell himself as a victim should be avoided.

If there's any two tier justice here, it's not that evident.
