Late last night, a fire erupted in a four-storey apartment building in Pattaya, sending plumes of smoke visible from afar. Despite the chaotic scene, no injuries occurred, thanks to timely action from local authorities and a resident's swift response.

The Pattaya City Land Disaster Relief Department received an emergency call at 11:46 PM, leading to rapid deployment of rescue volunteers and firefighters. The fire originated from the building’s top floor, specifically from a storage cabinet containing books.

As residents were evacuated, firefighters efficiently tackled the situation, using ventilators to clear the smoke. Remarkably, the flames were extinguished before spreading, averting a potential catastrophe.

The drama unfolded while Kamonporn, a 20-year-old resident and the room's owner's sister, was home. She initially dismissed a burning smell while showering but later realised the severity when an explosion occurred. Her quick action with a fire extinguisher and prompt alert to firefighters played a crucial role in containing the blaze.

Authorities suspect an electrical short circuit as the ignition source. While grateful no injuries were reported, officials emphasized fire safety's critical nature and the need for regular electrical system checks. Kamonporn's decisive actions were lauded by firefighters, highlighting her role in preventing a larger disaster.

It seems like a lot of the fires in commercial building in Thailand are caused by short circuit blow outs.

Kind of tell you the LOS safety codes are weak or non existant....
