Globally celebrated multi-Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay, in partnership with Thailand’s leading lifestyle operator TANACHIRA Group, is set to unveil Thailand’s flagship of the chef’s internationally acclaimed Bread Street Kitchen & Bar concept in ICONSIAM, a global landmark along the Chao Phraya River.

Opening late 2024, Gordon Ramsay Bread Street Kitchen & Bar at ICONSIAM will be located on Level 3, offering shoppers distinctively British classics and globally-inspired dishes complemented by an exceptional dining experience.

This will be the second Bread Street Kitchen & Bar in Thailand with its first located in Emsphere in the EM district.

Designed by the award-winning team at Whitespace Bangkok, the 608-square-metre restaurant will encapsulate Bread Street Kitchen’s signature industrial warehouse-inspired aesthetic, reminiscent of its London flagship, St. Paul’s.

The stunning space will blend vintage furniture with modern-urban accents, highlighted by the brand’s iconic checkerboard tile flooring. Guests will be drawn to the bar where its copper and steel elements create an industrial yet warm and inviting space, offering the perfect spot to unwind and sip on cocktails or a selection of fine wines.

Signature drinks like Ramsay’s G&T and the exclusive Bangkok by the River cocktail, celebrate both the Bread Street Kitchen ethos and the city it now calls home.

Warm copper tones and bright canary yellow hues of the main dining room enhance subtle industrial details, adding to the character of rivets and steel lines. Guests will dine in comfortable banquette seating and enjoy sweeping views of the city through sleek floor-to-ceiling glass windows, while the open kitchen will add a theatrical element allowing guests to witness Ramsay-trained chefs in action.

Looking up, solid wooden beams cross the ceiling reminiscent of river piers, a thoughtful nod to the restaurant’s scenic riverside location. Walking out onto the terrace will give guests a captivating view of the breathtaking Chao Phraya River and a stunning sunset as the backdrop, setting the scene for guests dining outdoors.

A private dining room that seats 12 will feature a standout design of an antique-style mirrored glass wall with an aged surface, creating depth and an illusion of spaciousness. A custom-designed centrepiece table completes this exquisite space perfect for intimate celebrations, private or corporate events.

I DO have a Platinum Amex, and I'll be joining you in the pub.

"Fine dining" really has never floated my boat.

Didn't Arnold Swarzenegger, Bruce Willys and Silvester Stalone tried to start a restaurant in Bangkok ???

And how well did that go ???

They were the original investors in Planet Hollywood and it is still open today in Siam Sq. As are many around the world. 😉

I think there are only 4 or 5 PH restaurants still open.

chatgpt says:

Planet Hollywood in Bangkok officially closed its doors in 2016. The restaurant, which was located on Sukhumvit Road, was part of the global chain known for its Hollywood-themed décor, memorabilia, and American-style food. The closure was part of a broader trend of the brand closing locations around the world, though Planet Hollywood still has some locations in other countries.

I won't be spending a single satang in either place as I can't stand the abusive Scottish gob.

I will pop in if he is ever there.

And send the food back and tell them that it is <deleted>e.

Really ?in a restaurant of this size and the difficulties of getting the ingredients/ wine and staff, who could ever give an opening date ? With my partner we have opened 5 restaurants in France from scratch, and have never been able to give an opening date until 3/4 days before. And that’s in a country where you have the experts for design and installations, and also the head chef, 2 nd chef and the rest of the team present.

of course you have, and you were so successful that you're now in Thailand posting on an expat blog site. lol

I presume the menu and prices will be similar to the existing branch in Bangkok.

There's also a weekday lunchtime special menu

Gotta chuckle at the “idiot sandwich” on the lunch menu.

Are they poking fun at the people who would pay 1160 baht (including tax and service charge) for a salad, sandwich and scoop of ice cream?

No.  Idiot sandwich refers to a late night TV comedy sketch

And it's not just a scoop of ice cream.  You get a chocolate fondant with it.  And the salad includes pancetta, parmesan and anchovies - expensive imported ingredients.  I won't pretend it's the best value meal in Thailand, but I don't think the price is unreasonable, assuming the quality and service are there.

I like the decor of this place.

My question is:  Looking at the image included with the story, those booze bottle on the top two shelves....

How do they reach that high when someone orders that top-shelf brand?

Planet Hollywood has never been in Siam Square, you are getting confused with Hard Rock Cafe.

Ok.  I didn’t realize that.  I don’t watch TV.

Enjoy your meal.

We popped in one afternoon last month. Place only had one couple eating. The rather dismissive door lady said we needed a reservation and that we would need to wait, so they took our number and said they would call in around 1 hour or so.

We continue around Empishere shops, and went back and it was still empty. I was bit annoyed by this, and maybe they had a problem with us or had some dress code (they didn't) so cancelled the reservation. Went to eat elsewhere, walked past it again and it was still just another soliary couple in there.

So why on earth did she deny us a seat? Bizarre

WARNING:-  Do not try and smuggle in a bottle of your favourite chilli sauce as a condiment to the food or Gordon will personally skewer you to the 'solid wooden beams'.

Unlikely as you'll never find him there!

As always, most hi-so will initially be excited, sharing a flurry of Instagram photos to showcase their experiences. But then what happens next?

What are you suggesting that happens next?   What happened on your subsequent visits?

Let us hope he keeps a strict eye on the quality and not just leave it to the manager. I've seen quite a few negative reviews of his restaurants. Overpriced and under quality. Out of my price range anyway.

Where did you two experience his restaurants and how much did you have to pay?

While on my way to Shake Shack at Emsphere I took a peak at the Gordon Ramsey restaurant located there and the lowest price steak was only 3500 Baht.  I enjoyed my 400 Baht Shake Shack cheeseburger combo instead.

Lots of comments on the 'price'...     and the mentality to compare Steak to a burger is rather daft.

If you want to compare the prices compare the Burger at 690 baht to Shake Shack at 400 baht if you will...

A 250gm Dry-aged Wagyu Rib-Eye Steak with a marbelling grade of 4-5 costs THB 2,500.00

Surprised at the low prices for a restaurant of his, most are wayyyy over priced!

Agreed - prices are in line with other similar restaurants in Bangkok such as Cocotte etc...

It seems some people just like to be negative and bitter.
