Closing that tax loop hole was a sensible move that was aimed at middle and upper class Thais who had been evading taxes, foreigners were just collateral damage. It will take a couple of years I would imagine, for the global tax bill to be tabled, debated, voted upon, approved and implemented, it wont be a quick process.

You could try taking it to a Rolex service center or a good watchmaker. If it’s fake, they won’t touch it, so you’ll know right away. Just make sure the seller is cool with that before you go. Maybe offer to split the service fee—it’s fair and keeps things smooth.
Honestly, though, it feels like a bit of a hassle unless you’re really sure it’s worth the effort. Personally, I’ve skipped all that stress and gone for pieces like a Patek Philippe Nautilus replica. They look great, cost way less, and you don’t have to worry about whether it’s real or not.
