A crash on December 18, involving a cement truck and a pickup truck carrying red onions claimed one life in Long District, Phrae Province. The collision occurred on the Mae Kham Hill in Long Subdistrict.

The pickup truck, originating from Chiang Mai, had crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with the cement truck. Emergency responders from the Den Chai Ruam Boon Rescue Association and the Pak Kang Municipality team were dispatched to the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was found inside the crushed pickup, which has fallen down a steep bank at the side of the road.

Two individuals, the driver and a passenger in the cement truck, which had rolled onto its side were injured. One suffered minor injuries, while the other was trapped inside the vehicle and required rescue efforts to be freed. Both were transported to hospital.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision. Initial reports suggest that the challenging terrain of Mae Kham Hill might have contributed to the collision.
