You could always start a topic on that, however I don't think it would include these extremely abusive practices.

Absolutely horrific......and it is criminal that from 2011 to 2021, despite every attempt by Baroness Cox, the Tory government failed to support her every step of the way in her efforts to introduce laws to prevent this from happening.

Introducing Laws will not stop it. See FGM ( especially in the London area ) for further details.

For far too many, UK Law means nothing compared to Cultural and Religious beliefs.

Without a law you are dead in the water, the police and judiciary can do nothing.....with a law you at least have the potential to do something ......if there's a political will to do so.

How is your assimilation into Thailand going?

If I had to live in the USA for family, love or work I too would not want to be like you gun toting, fentanyl addicted, obese loud mouths either. It is a big ask.

It's gone quite well, my language skills are improving, I'm quite close to my in-laws and I never have once tried to mow down a crowd of people, nor cause mass destruction.

There are a lot of issues of the American people and with American society I can name. At least a dozen of them, however stating them in defense of your position doesn't really accomplish anything.

Let me know all the wonderful accomplishments Saudi Arabia has made in the way of benefiting the planet in the past 10 years.

I could give that a smart answer, but I will refrain.

Despite the FGM Act 2003, it still goes on regardless. Only 1 person has ever been prosecuted under FGM Law.

Here is the good old Lefty Guardians take on it

You can make as many laws as you like. They mean not a jot to people who value their Culture and Religion more than any Western Law.

With half a dozen wives they are breeding like rabbits. Wake up UK. Sorry. It's too late.

All people breed like rabbits inside strong families. Ordinary courts with all these human rights nonsense in their heads destroy families by overprotecting women. This leads to depopulation and extinction of the indigenous white population.
UK should take a closer look at the successful experience of Eastern democracies and Sharia courts inside the UK.

Fascinating......could you expand on that and explain how human rights nonsense prevents a women in, say, Middlesbrough from having children by overprotecting her?

You do understand that FGM Act 2003 is UK Law ? And that there has only ever been 1 person prosecuted under that Law ?

And yet

Political will, Just like Laws, will not stop people practicing what they see as their Cultural or Religious rights.

What you see as a lack of Political will, others see as as appeasment to minority groups.

There have been sharia courts in the UK since 1982, talk about deflection. This is not about which gov is in power, its about the abuses they could and still do authorize.............

Doesn't make a ha'peth of difference, will or appeasement, to my argument......you can't do anything unless you have a law in place.......not sure why you can't see that????

Might be why UK prisons are bursting at the seams. Seems that quite a lot of people like to ignore Laws.

High Court fatwa ruling raises alarm over sharia courts in UK
A sharia council’s religious ruling influenced a judge’s decision in a life-or-death case with critics saying this undermined secular democracy

A British sharia council was given credibility by the High Court when a judge used one of its fatwas to decide a case.
The Islamic Council, founded by the hardline preacher Haitham al-Haddad, issued a religious ruling forbidding a health trust from allowing a brain-damaged child to die. Secular campaigners said using fatwas in civil courts undermined liberal democracy.
An investigation by The Times this week found that Britain is the western capital for sharia councils, also known as sharia courts.

FGM, like male circumcision, is not exclusively a Muslim practice and has nothing to do with Sharia.

How do Sharia courts exist? They cannot be valid criminal judicial courts. Possibly civil arbitration forums? Regardless, any arbitration needs to be carried out within the confines of UK Statute Law. I certainly would not honor the findings of a Sharia court, anymore than I would honor a Panchayat ruling. They have no standing.

Laws don't necessarily make people follow laws.......the risk of being caught combined with a punishment does.

I don't have a problem if they operate a Sharia court system UNTIL it crosses the national legal system.  If they want to enforce fasting during their religious days or the like fine no conflict.  But once they decide their laws are higher than national laws you have a problem.

No idea how Britain will solve their issues.  They have allowed far too many immigrants.  No hate for immigrants but they need to assimilate and until they do the door is closed.  Not what is happening in Britain these day.

Well there is a large number of right wing folks in USA right now that are trying to shove all their christian BS down everyone's throat and want the USA to be a christian nation where all public tax funded school kids are futher indoctrinated/brainwashed into the christian religion BS in direct violation of the constitution, women are told what they can do with their bodies by right wing "christian" politicians, evangelicals openly preach and engage in politics in direct defiance of being given a tax free status worth billions upon billions of unpaid taxes on church properties and incomes ...and it is getting worse with every passing day.

Now along comes more religious nutcases with all of the BS that they were indoctrinated where they were born moving to other countries and demanding that their religion and set of weird rules/beliefs should prevail.

The fact of the matter is your particular religion is mostly a result of where you happened to be born.  If you were born in England or American you are likely christian.  Italy?  Catholic.  Israel? Jewish.  Mid East or Indonesia?  Muslim.  Thailand?  Buddhist....and so on.  In a nutshell it is all about where you were brainwashed as a kid and subjected to peer pressure to fall into line and declare YOUR religion is the one that has it all correct and should be followed worldwide.

What you have is a giant pissing contest mess.  Religions have been a root cause of violence and conflict worldwide for centuries and it is getting worse...As John Lenno said:  Imagine NO RELIGION.

As you know, the most popular baby name in London is Mohammed. So it becomes obvious to everyone who is giving birth to children in London. And these are not white Christian women who are independent and self-sufficient thanks to the courts that protect their rights. An independent and self-sufficient woman does not need more than 1 child - she produces it and sends her husband far away. While Sharia courts do not protect women to that degree. So muslim women need men to be safe - and they want to save their families. Then strong families continue produce more and more Muhammads. That is your future - Sharia laws will become de facto laws everywhere.
So, the Supreme God`s Court has signed the verdict on the civil courts of London and ordered that they be replaced by Sharia courts.

Personally, I don't believe Sharia law should be practised in any western countries. But..

Mohammad is also the most popular name in Israel too for many years.

There is also Sharia practised in Israel for the Islamic population.

  • State recognition:
The Israeli government officially recognizes and regulates the Sharia courts, with judges appointed by the Knesset.
    Not fully implemented:
While Sharia law is applied in these courts, it is not a governing law for the entire Israeli population, and other legal systems operate alongside it.

Mohammad comes in at 53rd for baby names in Australia.

Australia doesn't recognise Sharia law.

First Nations people make up a small proportion (3.8%) of the Australian population. Yet they are over-represented in Australia's prison system, making up 32% of the total prison population, and are incarcerated at much higher rates than non-Indigenous Australians (ABS 2023a, ABS 2023b).May 9, 2567 BE

Penny Wong needs to clean her house out before denigrating Australia's Allies and accusing them of every sin under the sun.

Funny how Australia and most of the world accuses Israel of being an apartheid state.

I am just stating facts from Google references.

?????????? its not about what gov is in place, its about Sharia laws. Another deflection from you on the serious abuses it can perpetrate.

BBC 1’s Panorama on 8th April is an undercover investigation of Britain’s Sharia Councils. Publicity for the programme states that in it women claim that they have suffered domestic violence ignored by the councils. Campaigners say that it is time to tackle the parallel legal system which can run counter to British law.

Its simple. If woman is single, independent self-sufficient and overprotected, she does not need a husband for safety. That's why they prefer to not have a husband, to divorce and stay alone. But in order for a woman to have many children, she must be married. Otherwise, it is simply impossible to take care of so many children alone.
Eastern democracies and Sharia courts know this. That`s why, for example, In the case of rape, the Sharia court will say that the woman provoked the man herself. This leads to women seeking to get married to ensure their safety. While married, a woman constantly produces children. Easy and simple.

Okay lets ignore Sharia law and say the problem is parking on double yellow lines.

No law....people park where the hell they want....like in Thailand.

Want to stop this practice?

PASS A LAW AND ENFORCE IT.

There is no other option.
