(CNN) A newborn baby froze to death in a tent encampment in Al-Mawasi, in southern Gaza, on Wednesday, highlighting the stark challenges to survival faced by Palestinian children displaced from their homes amid Israel’s ongoing assault on the strip.

Sela Mahmoud Al-Fasih “froze to death from the extreme cold” in Al-Mawasi, Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, the director general of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, posted on X on Wednesday.

In the past 48 hours, Al-Fasih and at least two other infants – a three-day-old and a one-month-old – have died from low temperatures and a lack of access to warm shelter, Dr. Ahmed Al-Farra, the head of pediatrics and obstetrics at Nasser Hospital, in Khan Younis, told CNN.

Expect more. Tents made out of plastic don't protect against cold.

The heavy rains are estimated to affect over 1.6 million people living in makeshift shelters across the Gaza Strip, with thousands of displaced families living in tents along the coast in southwest Gaza being particularly affected by flooding and rising seawater. According to preliminary assessments, about 7,000 families residing along the shoreline were affected by recent rains, with thousands of tents flooded, belongings destroyed and shelters damaged.

If so, if.

These would be casualties from the actions of Hamas.

And this information is not directed to Hamas, simply because Hamas really does not care at all about casualties resulting from their doings...

"Hate" governs so many of the actions in that part of the world. And hate does not have room for other emotions...

The only way to resolve this conflict, is by the elimination of "hate".

Starting by Hamas, then undoing all the brainwashing that has tainted the culture in that part of the world, starting by modifying what is taught to children..

In theory you are right but dream on.  I have another solution in mind.

Never heard of a rich muslim oil country doing anything to help their fellow muslims like taking them into their own country and give them the necessities of life.  Aljazeera has never said this for an obvious reason.

Palestinians have a home, in Palestine.

It's the Palestinian leadership that are denying them access to shelter.  No one is freezing in Qatar or in the tunnels of Gaza.  They value the lives of foreign hostages more than their Palestinian infants.  That seems to be the only point on which the Palestinian leadership agrees with the Israeli leadership.

Can you please provide a link to back up your claim that It's the Palestinian leadership that are denying them access to shelter.”

Has the World grown tired of the  Palestinians claims ?

Are they now crying "Wolf" ?

Or has interest in their cause naturally waned and people have moved onto other issues ?

"Babies freezing to death you say" , Oh right

'

I guess denying the report helps you avoid dealing with the obscenity of a baby freezing to death.

I'm certainly not disbelieving the story.

I don't know when this happened but yesterday was very hot

I had to have the Air conditioning on unless it was written earlier this year

This article loses all credibility when they are using terms like "extreme cold" and "froze" to describe a day when the temperature ranged between 18 - 8 degrees C.

That's not much colder than my bedroom at night with the AC on.

They aren't Palestinians but muslims without a future if they stay there and Hamas exists and continues to hold the hostages.

They are Palestinians, quit your gaslighting.

I’m also reading certain that if they turned up en masse in your home country seeking sanctuary you’d be demanding they be sent back to where they came from.

I guess flip side to that would be you believing the report to avoid dealing with checking evidence or any credibility to it.  Apart from the word of the dear Doctor who has been there for a year reporting to the press and baring in mind that 30 hostages were also kept in 3 separate rooms at the same hospital, I'm sure you can believe everything he claims right............

I do not believe anything that comes from the Palsedtians side .

They have been shown to lie frequently and incessantly .

You would have to be a gullible fool to believe anything that they say or claim

I would agree that both sides are operating a propaganda campaign but that isn’t a reason to disbelieve everything except what your preferred side has to say.

A new born child in a tent encampment dying of hyperthermia is not at all unbelievable and masks other obscenity of a civilian population being displaced into a camp by military attacks on their homes.

Anyway, it’s Christmas, don’t let me interrupt the flow of callous spleen venting.

Evidence always helps too. Especially when it comes out of this doctors mouth.

As for the civilian population being displaced, would you rather have them stayed where they were, I know Hamas wanted that as well.

Circumvent the propaganda from both sides.

Give the world’s news reporters free access to report independently and directly from the camp.

Surely they’re not going to be in the way of any military action or betraying the location of troops while reporting from a refugee camp.
