Why, the end of Putin's regime and possibly his whole global empire. Here's a detailed read about coming economic collapse.

Elsewhere, calls are circulating in Chinese media to retake territory lost to Russia. In Iran, rioting has begun against the Russian supported mullahs. Persians want their country back. Syria already collapsed.

So impatient.

Syria only changed dictators a couple weeks ago ( oh, you thought some carefully scripted words means he's a fan of western style democracy, LOL )

and the revolutionary guard don't play nicely like cops in nanny states.

I think we can wait a bit longer before making any statements regarding anything in the M E.

Always remember that a leopard can't change it's spots. Take your example as Egypt, removed one dictator, flirted with fundamental Islam and went back to dictatorship.

Western minds claiming to understand the M E are doomed to disappointment.

As for Russia, many many have claimed to know what is going on there, only to be proven wrong. If half of what has claimed about Russia over the past 2 years on this very forum were true, Zelensky would be sitting in the Kremlin as I write, with Putin in a small cage.

But then, the American people voted for that guy because they thought he is smart. 555

I thought you were more switched on than to think that. Have you learned nothing from the past 8 years to think that the US public think Trump is smart? That would imply that millions of US voters are as dumb as the ones that thought a/ Biden was a great president b/ that Harris would make a great president.

They voted for Trump because the Dems put an IMO gibbering idiot up as their candidate.

No....not at all.....someone who has the best interests of the Russian people at heart, recognises the importance of World peace, a leader who will strive to avoid unnecessary conflicts and one that will not be afraid to allow Russians the chance to live in a true democracy.

Please inform me as to a single world leader that embodies those virtues and if you can't tell us of such why you think Russia should be different.

I don't know of any that has even one of those virtues. Biden, Starmer, Zelenski, any Euro leader, any of them rock your boat? :cheesy:

Agree....but every country would surely want such a leader?

Krusty,  I live in Thailand, almost 20 years, i've told you that many times before, are you suffering with a bit of Biden syndrome?.

Putin has a lot of support, but not 100%. If you check my post you will see I have always wanted the war to stop, its people like youself and the usual nursing home collective here that glorify the war.

I really really like "its people like youself and the usual nursing home collective here that glorify the war". That gets to the point as well as anything I've seen on here.

Seems we have a lot of guys that grew up on war comics. We used to read them in the military as satire.

Of course, but none have.

Must have something to do with the people that go into politics. Perhaps they were the unpopular kids that always got picked last for playtime footie, and wanted revenge on other people when they grew up.

It doesn't seem to me that the MAGA crowd reluctantly supported Trump.

And about "millions of US voters are as dumb". To quote George Carlin: “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”

How many of the millions of voters that voted Trump did you see on tv? I'm guessing it's as many as I did which was less that a hundred and usually at rallies where they were hyped up. The rest probably looked at Harris, held their nose and voted Trump.

As for "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that" no disagreement from me on that.

One only has to go to a supermarket to lose faith in the future of humanity. It's like people WANT to be fat, get diabetes and die early of a heart attack.

Seems like almost certainly Ukrainian sabotage.  Ships don't just explode and sink due to lack of maintenance.

They most certainly do. Every year approx. 70 ships are lost at sea. Hundreds have serious problems. As I write, the St Lawrence Seaway is disrupted because a vessel lost power and ran aground a few days ago. The Dali hit the  Baltimore bridge last March  causing the bridge to collapse and killing six construction workers. The ship lost power before veering off course and striking the bridge.

Back in 2022, Atlantic had a  pretty good story highlighting the problems with international shipping;  Felicity Ace is currently afire and adrift in the Atlantic Ocean, off the Azores, with a reported 4,000 cars on board, including Porsches, Bentleys, and Audis. The crew abandoned the vessel, en route to the United States, last week, and firefighters are now trying to control the blaze.   In January, a different container ship, the Madrid Bridge, limped into the port of Charleston, South Carolina, after losing about 60 containers at sea. Pictures of the vessel showed one row of the metal boxes collapsed and teetering over the gunwale.

A week later, an oil-storage vessel exploded off the coast of Nigeria. Within days, a Mauritian oil tanker had run aground off Reunión in the Indian Ocean. In Peru, workers are still cleaning up a spill that, according to some accounts, occurred when a tanker was rocked by tsunami waves. Experts are nervously watching another tanker off the coast of Yemen, which is slowly disintegrating in the midst of a war and an existing humanitarian crisis.

Russian fleet like much of the world's fleet is not well maintained because it costs money and  many operators believe  the vessels are not worth the effort.  The sailors' lives are put at risk because of that mindset.

They voted for Trump because Americans may never be adult enough to accept a female leader, and the billionaire bucks lined up behind Trump because they could see what was coming if Harris got in.

They will have the same chaos as with Trump's first presidency, with even less accomplished. History repeats itself.
