Went to an MD in Chiang Mai with an upper respiratory infection and she suggested I take Leftose https://www.leftose.com/ , in addition to a Z pack (an antibiotic) as she was fairly sure it was bacterial.

I've never heard of it before as I am from the USA and it is not widely available there.  i am curious if anyone has experience with it helping?  Almost all reviews seem anecdotal.

Lysozyme is a well known bacteriolytic enzyme and used in EU countries in many lozenges for throat problems. (First by Alexander Fleming btw)

Good choice by your qualified doctor👍

At least more than 300 million people know about or taking. this medicine worldwide. The fact that it is unknown to some doesn't mean it's not working. The OP's doctor shows to be educated very well.

Seems very odd to me that your MD thinks this is a bacterial infection without any formal investigation.

90/95% of upper respiratory infections tend to be viral....so prescribing an antibiotic seems a little left field.

It was an educated guess that I participated in. I could have waited for a culture test. She was right though.  The Z-Pac quickly cleared it up.

Well, I don't know.  I took it together with the azithromycin and that worked.
