Myanmar Junta Airstrikes Kill 40 Civilians, Including Monks
(Photo: Palaung State Liberation Front) Myanmar’s military has killed at least 40 civilians, including Buddhist monks and children, in a series of airstrikes in the country’s north, insurgents reported on Monday. The strikes are part of the junta’s escalating efforts to crush resistance as civil conflict rages on. The attack targeted the Sein Yadanar monastery in Nawnghkio, Shan State, on Sunday, killing 13 people, including six monks—four of them young novices. Seventeen others were wounded, 13 of them monks, according to Lway Yay Oo, spokesperson for the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA). She accused the military of deliberately attacking civilians and religious sites. Myanmar has been in turmoil since the 2021 coup that ousted Aung San Suu Kyi’s elected government. With resistance forces growing, the military has increasingly relied on airpower to weaken insurgent strongholds. Rights groups say these airstrikes frequently target civilian areas, aiming to erode support for rebel forces. The TNLA claims the junta is trying to pressure them into peace talks being brokered by China, which has strong economic ties to Myanmar. However, the group did not comment on whether negotiations would be considered. Meanwhile, Myanmar faces a deepening humanitarian crisis, with 3.5 million people displaced and food aid agencies struggling with funding shortages. The junta, which rarely comments on battlefield developments, has not responded to inquiries about the latest attack. As the military prepares for an election by January, which it hopes will strengthen its grip on power, its brutal campaign against civilians risks further international condemnation. -

Nightmare in Kursk: Ukrainian Troops Recount Devastating Retreat
I've listened to this same propaganda from the US and the West my entire life. Worded exactly that way. Do you know who that propaganda is for? It's for the consumption of Western citizens. <Enter name of target country here> is run by a ruthless dictator who kills and enslaved his own people and then attacks his neighbors without provocation...... <add embellishments here> Every country which fails to bend a knee to US primacy eventually gets tagged with the same propaganda, virtually word for word, in order to get the US public (and the Western public in general) on board to support never-ending "Forever Wars", US/NATO bombing campaigns, and eventually "boots on the ground." Funny that when the US/NATO invades a country, it's called "a responsibility to protect." When you listen to this for 70+ years, including when you are on active duty and see it first hand, some of us wake up to the facts and see right though the propaganda. Once you get to that point, you begin to promote actually peace, promote the end of conflict, promote anti-war ideals, and you can tell who the actually "aggressors" are as opposed to whom you are told the "aggressors" are. I'd say there is a large majority of AN members who buy the propaganda hook, line, and sinker. And as such these same people literally hate Russia, hate Russians (actually hate everyone their leaders tell them to hate), and can see no end of this conflict except with the strategic defeat of Russia. And the only way that happens is via WWIII or nuclear war. So by extension, these members want to see WWIII even if it leads to nuclear war. "We must give our lives to keep Russia from winning!" No - you can give YOUR life. Please - go volunteer to join the Ukrainian military and give your life to stop the Ruskies. Don't volunteer mine in some f***ed up WWIII culminating in a nuclear exchange. I've no dog in this fight other than in support of the end of war in all its forms. In my book Russia is in the right given the history of European aggression toward Russia and NATO expansion since the early 1990s. Russia and Russians are the victims who are now pushing back on the actual aggressors.- 1

US Deports Hundreds of Alleged Venezuelan Gang Members Despite Court Order
50 U.S.C. 21 says, in pertinent part: Whenever there is a declared war between the United States and any foreign nation or government, or any invasion or predatory incursion is perpetrated, attempted, or threatened against the territory of the United States by any foreign nation or government…. I think Trump should make a similar finding on Mexican nationals parading with Mexican flags when they are associated with Socialist organizations, and similarly, those so called students supporting Hamas. We are too lenient. Can you imagine a bunch of masked FARANG kaffiyeh wearers walking around Bangkok with a effigy and signs screaming foul insults towards Thailand?
