Why do people still deny the Holocaust ever happened
All of the above. I’ve generally encountered this as a combination of antisemitism (irrational hatred of Jewish people) and a penchant for conspiracy theories (Jewish people systematically invented or exaggerated the Holocaust to gain political advantage). One of my favorites was a fellow who resorted to semantic trickery, saying that those Jews who died (not as many as history claims of course) were “killed” and not “murdered” during the war, turning it into a fog-of-war scenario. He was quite proud of himself at this neat solution that absolved the Nazis of any major wrongdoing. The Turks used (and often still use) a similar strategy in responding to the fact of their wholesale massacre of Armenians toward the end of the First World War. -

Gender recognition bill considered for identity self-determination
This is a good reason to not give them an inch ........ they always want more. And if I'm out on a date, I want to have advance warning of the equipment they're potentially bringing to the party. -

Should income for visa 800K (retired) or 400K (married) not be taxable?
1. Yes transfer at least a credible base amount. I always have some cash in Baht in my pocket.. 2. As long as it remains.remittance based, I think every second.year, or perhaps even every 3rd. ( If it goes global Yes.) 3. Visa, don't know. I find the detail of many Visas is like shifting sands even if the core remains.fairly stable. I'm always in mostly hypothetical mode, e.g. £11700 base amount (all taxed) in UK and 480k THB transferred to Thailand p.a.. £### mobile pocket money. Perhaps only transferred to Thailand when generated as non tax resident in TH. UK tax year 6th April-5th April >183 days at the end of the day. Thailand tax year 1st Jan to 31st Dec >179 Days if no Thai earnings. Base amount continuous. Extra Transfers to Thailand after >183 days in UK idealy, preferably within 6th April to 31st Dec. (Will they ever issue the non-O Multi again, though the evisa is pretty quick) But life not bonded to tax planning! -

Looking forward do U.S. expats face the risk of retaliation by nations burned by Trump?
Personally, I think he should lay off Greenland. I doubt that there are any illegal immigrants or drug cartels in the USA from Greenland, and Denmark has refused many times over the centuries to sell Greenland to the USA. Furthermore, under a 1917 legal agreement with the UK, the latter has first right of refusal to buy Greenland from Denmark, if Denmark does decide to sell. The USA would have to join the queue 🙂 I think Trump should tread carefully, since Denmark is quite entitled to kick out the important US Space/Satellite base in Greenland. -

No, he's jailed for contempt of court and received numerous warnings first. "Political prisoner", seriously. Jeez.
