Front facing helmet mounted camera in the event that someone rear ends you?

Obviously a front facing helmet camera is quite quick and easy to use, it's not too expensive, and most accidents are probably going to be something happening in front of you. But, is it helpful in the even that someone rear ends you and then tries to blame it on you?

Presumably, you will have footage of you driving in a straight line, prior to the car hitting you, but this obviously might not include that car, unless you manage to turn around and look at them, and even then it might not be acceptable.

Is a front facing camera useless in the event that someone hits you from behind? Or does it still have a chance to save you from a sticky situation?

It sure shows someone hit you from behind, no doubt, but as you say can't see the offender, in any case, it's still very helpful when people jump in front and cause accidents, which happens a lot here...

I doubt can turn around and film the guy hitting from behind, that's probably impractical if gone down...!? 🤔

What I mean is, if the video shows you staying in your lane, then being hit from behind, then it should be clear that you didn't cut someone off.  Obviously this is tricky if the person is behind you, as it might not be believed that it is the same incident.  When I say turn around to look at them, I mean after the impact, to show that that is what the video is showing, but, as I said, they might not really believe you (and hard to do if sprawled on the floor with an injury).

Yes,  it certainly helped me a few years ago.  Coming back from Nan the front camera showed me slowing down for traffic.  Then bam, hit from behind the camera catches the quick jerking and

and some side movement of my vehicle.

The police reviewed it later at the police station confirming 100% the fault of the guy who rear ended me.

You get set ups for front and rear camera for motorbikes same as cars.

Head camera can show who's wrong and right in most cases. Do not need actually pics, and in Thailand, those coming from behind have the responsibility in most obvious cases, unless you do something really stupid in front.
