It's good you kids don't refer to her as 'the Thai'.

When you borrowed all that money against your land with each new loan to pay the interest on the old ones, you probably weren't thinking it was something you could tell her about, but when she saw you moping around and she asked why you suddenly weren't happy, and you explained how could be happy when you had "big ploblem cannot talk about", and she asked what it was and you told her and how you would lose the land she built your house on.......

Expand

Ah, you caught me there, mate. That’s exactly how it happened. I wasn’t exactly rushing to share my whole “big ploblem” with her, but she’s sharp, isn’t she? But all Thai wives are like that. She caught me moping about and dragged it out of me. When I told her I’d borrowed against the land so many times that it was about to vanish into the ether, I thought she might lose it.

But no, not her. Not my Angel. She just rolled her eyes, muttered something about men and their “stupid ploblems,” and then rushed off to make a few phone calls. Next thing I know, it’s all sorted. Loans paid, land secure, and she even managed to throw in a few upgrades to the old house on the land while she was at it.

Honestly, I don’t know how she puts up with me. She’s a Thai miracle worker wife, plain and simple.

Mrs. Neville (born to a family of wealthy landowners) is your classic sugar mama. She always takes care of the bill and would find it very offensive if I ever offered to pay. She's been a bit grumpy of late but we have now kissed and made up, and she's taking me for a slap up meal later tonight at one of the most expensive joints in town..

She dresses me in the all finest clobber, my wardrobe is full of swanky shirts and snazzy jeans - she's definitely a keeper.

We have our ups and downs and to be honest the downs usually stem from when I offer to pay for something out of my own pocket. She gets really annoyed and always asks 'why you want to pay? you already know I have money...' before slamming her platinum credit card down on the cashiers desk..

Is it the same for you lot?

Yes, my wife pays all my bills, because she have access to all my founds in Thailand, and even holds a credit card with 500k on it in credit.

I never pay a bill in Thailand.

For sure, do come, and bring a few of your other mates with you too, if you feel so inclined. I've just called the wife and alerted her that we're going to have a few extra guests. So she's already ordered a few extra bottles of Champagne and 75 year old whiskey to have on board, using her debit card of course, just in case we all get extra thirsty. She's the best. Always thinks of everything. Where would I be without her unmatched smarts and quick thinking on the fly?

Why, she is the purest form of gold digger. Expert level 10. When that is said, she let me live at her farm I paid for.

I make her happy, she makes me happy.

I never needed to make up with my wife, we are always happy. Very happy and no worries

I'm a grown up man, and she is a grown up woman, so we both had history, made some experiences and know when we have something valuable, and do what we canto maintain what we have.

It is personality and attitude we both cherish and trying to maintain.

From my short time on this Forum so far, this BarBoy character appears to act very much like Trump. Lies and inflates the truth, makes up everything as he goes, poor at covering his tracks, comes up with insulting names for many other posters, praises posters who admire him, and attacks any who don't. Total Trumpian narcissistic behavioral disorder. Is there anything else about this BarBoy poster that I am not aware of?

Well, they used to call me bar boy until I got banned from so many bars in Chiang Mai prior to Covid for drinking so much and often needing to be escorted back home.

But they usually just call me Short-timer for the last few years. Maybe because of my stature, or possibly because of something else, but I'm not exactly sure. But I don't mind the name. I guess it kind of suits me in some way.

Have you ever gone by any other names besides Colin?

I imagine with a wife like that you must have been pulled to the very bosom of the village. People sitting at the restaurant call you over and before you know it food and drink have been ordered and everyone is having such a good time that your wife feels she really should pick up the tab.

My experience is, more people stays happy together, than those who are unhappy and also get divorced.

So I guess I I've by my experiences, and you by yours.

And for those whomdo not succeed, there is an easy explanation why it went to hell
