No, you don't understand. Like I said, you have to look at all other topics we've been in to see what he's said. You also can't judge from looking at just what I said without looking to prior replies. Sarcasm doesn't work here. You've only been here a week, which means, unless you've gone over all of the topics I and he have been in, you've missed 99% of what's been said. I stand on what I've said. Thank you, @still kicking, for bringing up this topic, because I had no idea that many/most posters are NOT in Thailand (or regular, frequent visitors like the off-shore men).

 

That explains why so much monkey chatter noise here.

So many posters just don't have first-hand experience or any recent experience on topics related to expat living.

So why do they pollute the forum with endless silly comments?

 

My own "ignore user" list has hundreds of user names, and still growing.

Shouldn't be like that, but it is like that.

It's the only way I know to stay focused on topics that are relevant to expat living in Thailand.

 

Well, this topic has helped me to understand a bit more than before.

There are a plenty of people living in Thailand and posting here, there is pretty good information in specific forums, like the regional or visa related.

I don't need to go into the history of who did what. I can see that some members like a wind up and some who pretend to be other than who they say they are. But that doesn't change anything about what I observe from you. 

You are writing much the same things to me...How I don't understand, cannot read properly, only skimming. How you know all about everything and how I know nothing. All variations on the same theme. You cannot stop it.

Like I mentioned, sarcasm doesn't work here. Read what he's said in earlier posts, and topics. Then you'll understand a bit more why I said what I said. Again, it's not acting badly calling someone out who's acting like a narcissist. This is something everyone has to do.

 

Toxic people are to be avoided. Alpha males, narcissists and the like who make the world a harder place to live,  are only there to intentionally hurt others, because this is all they know, from being taught as children by caregivers. My parents taught me well. This is why I try to avoid such people, but sometimes they have to be found out.

 

You indeed have to go back and look at previous replies and topics. That's the only way you will understand someone's actions here. Remember Hitler was loved by many until he was found out, along with many other world leaders and people. Two wrongs don't make a right yes, but allowing bad behavior allows it to continue. That's something you learn at a very young age. Letting people walk all over you isn't how they stop their behavior. I tell it like it is. Take some time and peruse through a few topics before you judge.

I have visited Vietnam 3 times and am currently here (coming up on 3 months).  I have been treated wonderfully every time by all the Vietnamese I have interacted with.

 

I too originally thought they would hate us Americans (United States citizens for the pedantic among us) but when asking about it, I was informed that only the oldest generation (mostly dead now) harbors any resentment and most actually are quite interested in the USA from politics to music and sports (Lebron James was a favorite of one hotel manager)

 

Maybe people who think Vietnamese (in general) don’t like Americans are mistaking a generalization with the fact that they probably just didn’t like him.

Desperate? You actually think I'm trying to change your mind? I'm rather pointing out your mistakes, and giving you a way to understand them. Where did I say anything about anyone hurting you? You're assuming, like a few others here do. I put blame where it belongs. You're inability to understand what I've said isn't my deal. I told you why I said something, and gave you reasons for it. How you read more into what I say amazes me. I didn't say most here speak English. Quite the contrary. In my village, there are only a few that speak any, including my daughter's teacher. She speaks more English than her teacher does. A large majority in the beach areas are from Isaan, so you're hearing that dialect there.

From what I hear, they do kill whatever they see here. I've eaten some of them before when I was with my ex. Back in Texas, we ate Rattlesnake, which are everywhere.
