Police from Pattaya Police Station responded at 09.00 on January 7, to reports of a young woman attempting to jump from a building in Pattaya, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi.

The incident took place at a five-storey apartment building on Pattaya Klang Road (Central Pattaya Road). Officers arrived to find Miss Woraporn, 23, crying uncontrollably while standing on the fourth-floor sloping roof, threatening to jump. Despite police efforts to calm her, she refused to respond.

Shortly after, her boyfriend arrived at the scene and attempted to reason with her. Using a moment of distraction, he managed to grab her arm and pull her to safety.

According to her elder sister, Miss Sirirat, 28, Miss Woraporn suffers from depression and has a history of overdosing on medication. She revealed that this was not the first time her younger sister had attempted suicide by jumping from a building. On previous occasions, she had been saved in time.

Miss Sirirat explained that prior to the incident, she had been alone with her sister when Woraporn suddenly ran to the balcony. Although Woraporn had minor arguments with her boyfriend, her sister believes these were not the primary cause of the attempt.

Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation transported Miss Woraporn to Pattaya City Hospital, where she is now receiving professional medical care for her condition.
