A woman was arrested on January 6, after attempting to rob a gold shop inside Big C Mall in the Muang district of Nakhon Pathom.

At approximately 10:30, the Nakhon Pathom radio dispatch received reports of a woman armed with a knife attempting to rob the Ek Anan Gold Shop located inside the shopping centre. Local police officers, led by Police Colonel Phupan Tapcharoen, responded to the scene, along with investigation and patrol units.

Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Thitima Charoensuk, carrying a red cloth bag containing a knife approximately 30 cm in length. Thitima was immediately apprehended and arrested for attempted robbery and carrying a weapon in public without a legitimate cause.

The incident was reported by Kiriya Aramrasmee, a 38-year-old deputy manager of the gold shop. Kiriya stated that the suspect had entered the store, demanding five baht of gold, and threatened to use the knife to carry out the robbery. Fearing for her safety, Kiriya contacted emergency services, alerting the authorities of the situation.

Thitima, noticing the police had been contacted, quickly exited the store, but Kiriya followed her closely while providing updates to the police. The officers arrived at the scene in time to arrest Thitima, who was then taken into custody for further questioning.

Authorities have informed the suspect of the charges against her and her legal rights. Thitima has been transferred to the Nakhon Pathom police station for further investigation and legal proceedings.

Thitima must be pretty desperate to have attempted this half hearted try at a robbery.

Obviously not a seasoned criminal.
