Hostages Reunite with Families After Release from Gaza. In a moment filled with both joy, relief and heartbreak for those still held captive or dead, three hostages, Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, and Doron Steinbrecher, returned to Israel after 471 harrowing days in Hamas captivity. They arrived at the Re’im military base in southern Israel, where their mothers awaited them with open arms. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the women underwent initial medical assessments upon arrival, accompanied by IDF officers, before being taken to Safra Children’s Hospital at Ramat Gan’s Sheba Medical Center.

The hospital, chosen for its serene and private accommodations, is providing the women with essential care. The facility has prepared fresh clothing, toiletries, beauty care, and specially crafted meals to aid their recovery. A special medical team and support personnel are attending to their needs during what is expected to be an extended stay.

The atmosphere outside the hospital was a mix of celebration and reflection. Liah Lahat, whose 16-year-old daughter is a patient at the hospital, expressed the complex emotions of the day. “This is a joyful and fulfilling moment,” she shared, standing near the cordoned-off press area. “But it is joy mixed with sorrow.” She added that the children in the ward were excited about the hostages’ return, revealing that her daughter had written and recorded songs for them as a gesture of support.

The release of the hostages was marked by jubilant scenes. Footage released by the IDF captured families celebrating as the women were handed over to troops in the Gaza Strip. Emotions ran high as loved ones jumped, waved their hands in the air, and embraced the long-awaited moment. The mothers of the three women stood with IDF officials near the border facility, watching their daughters return home. Among them was Maj. Gen. Dado Bar Kalifa, head of the IDF Personnel Directorate, who witnessed the reunion firsthand.

Speaking at a press conference, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari assured the public of the women’s safety. “They are in our hands. They are coming home,” he stated. The three women were escorted by IDF special forces to a facility near the border for a preliminary checkup before their transfer to the hospital.

This event marks the end of a grueling ordeal for the hostages and their families, symbolizing resilience and hope amid immense challenges. As the nation celebrates their return, the focus now shifts to their recovery and reintegration into daily life.

but the Palestinians that were supposed to be released are still in prison. The israelis even fired tear gas at those waiting for their relatives to be released.

Seems they are doing whatever they can to sabotage the ceasefire.

One assumes no more israeli captives will be released till every Palestinian that is supposed to be released is free.

Do you even understand what "decimation" means? Apparently not.

Completely and utterly wrong. Why lie or are you completely ignorant of the facts?

Israel says it has released 90 Palestinian prisoners as part of the ceasefire deal with Hamas. The news comes after the first Israeli hostages released under the long-awaited agreement arrived back in Israel.

Your post is either disingenuous or you didn't even read the article you linked. Probably both.

The Israeli military has fired tear gas and stun grenades at crowds in the West Bank - as they celebrated the release of Palestinian prisoners in a hostage deal.

Alright then I will rephrase my post with the intended term, destruction.

Happy now?

I only see one freedom fighter there, among a mob of terrorists and a crowd of baying Gazans. What a hero she and the other girls are surviving 471 in captivity in that sick place.

As usual the cowards cover their faces and seem gleeful at being able to bully a helpless and traumatized girl. Says a lot about what kind of "men" they are. If any met a real soldier they would crap their pants.
