Wow you really know your stuff.......that is impressive.....oh wait on......is that copy and paste? Uncredited?

Someone tried to provide meaningful information, and somehow it triggers your sarcasm, are you envious? It would be a sin, you know?

When I was studying for my Master the Professor told us "you can't know everything, but you need to know where you can find the Information".

In terms of climate change, it is in everyone's interest - including China - to share the technology.

The infrastructure needed to bring nuclear fusion to the same supplier status as conventional power stations is far more complex and expensive than simply burning coal, oil or gas.

To me, it's the same as sharing vaccine technology. Disease has no boundaries, neither does climate change.

You're totally right about that, but to them it's all about money, unfortunately!

I don't know whether or not Crying Dick assembled those facts himself or copied them from elsewhere. But if you make a direct quote and don't acknowledge your source, it's called plagiarism.

Never said that...

But you did say "Yeah well, since their God is money I doubt it will be free. ", which implies money is their God alone. You might have said "Like 99% of humanity, money is their God ". In other words, no different. Why demonize them, eh? You don't think western Big Pharma, oil companies and all the other mega corporation's don't worship it?

I said their God is money because the article is about the Chinese specifically! It's not about western countries or companies, and their God IS money and power, whether you accept that or not doesn't change the fact!

If this article was about pharmaceutical companies I would've said the exact same thing! Like the company that makes HIV meds and Brazil asked for a discount and they said no, despite the fact that they had recouped their investment in developing this drug a thousand times over already. So then Brazil said, well, we either get it for a better price or we'll clone it and they still said no. So now Brazil clones the meds legally and the greedy Pharma company can suck it! Kudos to Brazil!

But in the case of pharma companies, they are behaving with exceptional greed. What is there exceptional about the alleged Chinese attitude? Why mention it at all since the Chinese are no different in this regard?

No, it's not a "fact". It's just your opinion. Repeating "...their God IS money and power" isn't a statement of fact. If I don't agree with you, you maintain it's still "a fact"! That's not an intelligent argument.

ASEAN NOW negativity shining as brightly as ever.

IMO the only reason China "collaborates" with western companies is to steal the tech. They've been doing that for decades.

"They" are also of the opinion that you shouldn't research topics you should just say what you think.....regardless of what the 'truth' might be.

It is an opinion forum, and I suspect that none of the posters actually know much about what they post ( including myself- getting in before the trolls ), which is why they cut and paste so much. Some posters do nothing but cut and paste.

The same thing was often said about Japan in the past wasn't it. China is now considered to be one of the key players in advancing green technology.

'The rapid growth of green technology production in China has helped cut green energy costs worldwide, making sustainable energy solutions more accessible than ever for billions of people'

. If they need to nick a bit of knowledge from the west to help them on the way, then more power to them.

Some posters don't resort to IMO as a way of asserting all kinds of blatant nonsense. They back up their opinions by linking to facts and expert opinions.

Excellent point. Lots of the members here are living in the past. As I pointed out earlier, Post WW2 Japan was often ridiculed for cheap low quality goods it exported. Most people stopped laughing at Japanese tech a long time ago. Nowadays, Made in Japan is a byword for high quality.

If you can't stand the heat (of competition and genius) get the hell out of the kitchen. You can't hold back progress. Hey, who invented the wheel? 4,000 years ago? In Mesopotamia. Sure as hell wasn't invented in California. Nuclear fission stemmed from experiments by Otto Hahn and his German colleagues in Berlin in 1938. So who's stealing from whom? If you look at just a few videos of Chinese trains, bridges, airports and ports, you'll begin to realise the extraordinary achievements from 1949 to the present.
