Using the automated queuing system for appointments at Immigration (CW - Division 1)

Does anyone know how often Immigration Division 1 refreshes/opens their online calendar for appointments? The queue for retirement extensions is booked solid for the next four weeks. Do they open it day by day (like 8 am each morning and it quickly fills), or do they do it week by week? Curious if anyone knows the practice. I know I can just go there (CW) early any day without an appointment and line up to get a queue number.. but the appointment system seems better - but not easy to get one..

Indeed. I just checked. No appointments available for Jan or Feb.

You would need to do walk in. 

While many suggest go crack of daylight I suggest reach immigration prior to lunch break 12-1pm and obtain que ticket.

Note you will need to show filled in TM7 form.

Use lunch break to obtain any photocopies etc. L1.

Also and banking also L1.

You will be see in afternoon with as you have que ticket.

Note that ticket allows you to bypass the long line at 1pm

So if I show up at 11am, I can ask for an afternoon queue ticket?  Or are they just issued continuously, but getting the queue number late morning let's you walk in at 1pm (but then wait my turn while all those from morning who still haven't been seen - is that right?)  - also can the two bank letters (letter and statement) be issued while you wait? Like 30 minutes, etc.)?

The que ticket is continuous.

When you stand outside office at 1pm there is long line.

These folk do not have ticket.

To left side of entrance there is clerk letting folk with que ticket in.

Yes those not seen in morning or waiting for pp return are dealt with according to que # issued in morning. 

 

Re bank letters etc....suggest you obtain those day or two prior to day of application.

In the lunch break go to branch and make small 100b deposit.

Ask lady to photocopy this last page of bb to show deposit.

Which serves as update and activity. 

I previously obtained bank letter on the day. Now I obtain the bank letter and 12 month bank statement the day or two prior.

The que for that is getting bigger. Avoid.

Que for teller for deposit usually zero.

bank letter and statement depends on your bank. Bangkok Bank for example takes 3-5 days for the statement. The letter gets issued instantly. 
 

I was there yesterday for my extension. Got there at 6.30am and was out by 10. Just fyi

Assume that you did not update bank book or make deposit to show activity on day of application?

I did make an atm withdrawal and then updated my book bank at the automated passbook update machine so that I’d have my bookbank updated to the day.

Thanks, very useful. I wasn't aware the statement would take so long. Isn't it just a print out (of how many months)? Then a stamp by the bank branch? I gather I can go to any branch, not specifically my own for both letter and statement, is that right? Sorry one more question, is the bank 'letter' the same one I took for my O Visa request? It was addressed to Immigration and indicated the amount of international transfer (and I think the balance that day). All in Thai.

I'm looking for an appointment at CW 3rd week of March. I've used the online booking before no issues. Yesterday, it showed nothing for January or February and no option to go beyond that. This morning I logged in and there were appointments available for several times on 27th February. That was all. 

 

Last year, I forgot to make an appointment. Got there early and was about 10th in queue for L desks (retirement). Went down to get bank letter from Kbank and, even though I was first through the door, the dopey bank clerk took over 30 minutes to do it. My queue number passed so I had to get another ticket (can check what number in queue from QR code on queue ticket). Was still done and out by 11am but would rather have a 10am appointment for certainty.

I don't think the clerk was "dopey" 

30 mins is going rate.

You on the other hand could have obtained the "bank letter" prior to day of application. 

Would be acceptable no problem.

Is this your first extension from the Non O?

Is your bank Bangkok Bank?

It's a month ahead and sometimes appointments appear randomly (cancellations?) or on every new day a month ahead.  Gives us something to do each morning from time to time.

It's interesting. My renewals at CW are around the Oct zone.

Never been an issue.

Don't know if the high season is the issue, however seems now very few slots available and as you point out it's only a month ahead. 

 

Hopefully temporary as with an appointment it makes things far less of a headache.

Sorry if not clear. Yes, this is my first retirement extension request following the 3 month O Visa I received for that purpose. My bank is SCB. I know there isn't one at CW. However, a branch near my place (not my own branch) is helpful. They printed the oversease transfer credit advisory same day (in just a few minutes), however that wasn't enough for IO, who then sent me to another branch on Changwattana Road. They gave me a 'certificate of deposits' in Thai language and checked a box that said it's addressed to Immigration and I took that along (for the O visa).

 

Would the two letters (letter and statement) for the extension be different?

The bank provides two different things.

1.The "bank letter" This is a simple A4 page statement that confirms you as the owner of the account with a/c# and balance at date of issue.

 

2. The "bank statement" is list of every day of transactions in your account.

 

The bank statements can be 3/6/12 months as you require.

My annual extension for example require 12 month bank statement.

For first extension 3 months should be sufficient and some immigration offices would just accept your bank book and photocopies.

Seems not. I tried very early this morning and then later to immigration hours.

On both instances Jan fully booked and only Feb 14 and 26 had opening.

Even then only one slot on each day.

 

Suggest you do walk in.

Perhaps a Wed obtain ticket just prior to lunch break.

Note you will  need to show filled in TM7 for que#

Do paperwork between 12-1pm.

You will 100% be seen in arvo session.

Thanks @rockedbottom that's very useful. So that's the letter, then the statement is several pages long if you ask for 3 or 6 months, is that right? (and takes longer to get)?

Thanks, I just kept checking each day several times and finally got a convenient day (not too early in the week, in case the bank documeents weren't ready..it would give me extra time to work on the banks)

I get a 12 months statement - the Immigration Officer wants to see that you met the financial requirements for the entire period of your permission to stay. As I said, bangkok bank takes 3-5 days to give that. No idea about other banks.

BBL is only bank I'm aware of that takes days to provide bank statement.
