Also Kudos for the RTP the 4th person they have arrested after the EDC concert in Phuket that 300,000 people attended where a couple of 'foreign' people died (they needed to show they were doing something about it) and the possession charges haven't reached 5 yet  looking at the media reports which should be fairly accurate as we all know how much those RTP love to get in a photograph of a good 'catch'

Let me clarify, it's not a cop selling it to you, it's civilians that earn their money by working with the cops. I've seen it happen several times on Khao San Road and I've been warned about that specific guy by several people as well. He sells them some weed and 50 meters down the road they get busted by the cops. He approached me once as I was passing by and asked me, if I wanted some.

yes.

I understood you loud and clear and I'm telling you that while it may have been something that happened a long time ago in a Thailand far away, it does make sense now for either the dealers or the cops.

the dealers would be taking repeat customers out of circulation and the cops would be doing it for extortion money. the fact that this case made the media means it was a genuine bust.

if you saw it happen on Khaosan Road it certainly wasn't in this decade, and I highly doubt it involved cocaine.

in other words, you are perpetuating a tired old myth.

A thread full of decrepit ol' gits that have no grasp on reality, still living in the 50's  after watching referb madness  propaganda...

You absolute  whoppers.

Even Thai government put cocaine in a class 2, unless you're caught selling  the penalty is a fine... no  Bangkok hilton, which is its all you know from your naïve 50 yrs out of touch opinion.

correct -- they revised the policy. jail time is a possibility, but certainly not for first time offenders, the idea is to limit the people going to jail and move toward rehabilitation

  1. Possession for personal use (of category I, II and V substances) is liable for a term of imprisonment not exceeding 2 years and/or a fine not exceeding THB40,000. Under the previous legal provision, possession of category I narcotics could lead to 1 - 10 years imprisonment or fine of THB20,000 - 200,000.
